I was hoping this would get 5+ million viewers. What in the hell will boxing have to do to get viewers back?

The fight was great on paper and reality...check
      The location was good...check
      The pre-hype was pretty good...check
Was aired via primetime on the most popular network in the US...check

just curious but did you plan on mentioning that Canelo-Kirland did over double the viewers than that replay.

It's great that HBO gives fans the time breakdown for the individual fights, but doing so has got people, here and on other boards, deluded.

When was the last time that an HBO Champioship Boxing broadcast, I'm talking about the full show, even averaged 1m viewers?
exactly you are making my point. As fights go on ratings tend to go just like what happened to Thurman-Porter. Imagine if that KO of the year slugfest lasted even longer? Would have peaked at several hundred thousand more views.

I was hoping for a bigger rating. Thank goodness that the fight actually lived up to expectations. Both of their next fights should do decent as well.

I reckon Thurman vs. Garcia would do better, and a bigger co-main would help.

Remember they were supposed to have Mares v Cuellar but Mares failed the physical. I actually think Hurd and Molina deserve credit because their fight was just as good as thurman v porter.

I remember, so I'm not faulting anyone. ***** just happened that way, and Hurd/Molina made the most of the spotlight. Hurd is yet another talented LMW, seems like they're mass-producing these guys in a factory. Ideally, I think the original card would've done a bigger rating. Regardless, Saturday was a good night of boxing. June has already produced two FOTY candidates.

I think those expectations are pretty high for what is basically two top contenders facing off.

Yeah. Haymon and his associates could make 1 hell of a 154lb tourney.
