What would be the point of UKAD testing boxers then letting them keep on fighting for over a year without telling anybody about a positive result?

They do that all the time in any sports... Athletes will get shoved of their medals years after when samples are tested again with better detection techniques and hardware ..

Depends upon how a ban would be enforced. One thing is for sure though and that is that this is a mess (if true).

Even if it turns out to be true, Joshua won't be stripped because the IBF title was contested. So if they decide to roll out & if Wlad gets his belts back it will be minus the IBF..

^Was waiting for this sort of thing. I actually hope Fury is innocent. But, many members of the Fury fanbase have been beyond obnoxious around here. It's always a joy when ill behaved clowns get put in their place. Maybe some of them will learn the value of showing grace in victory.

In all likelihood he took the drugs to try win as he knew he couldn't beat Klitschko and was going to retire anyway afterwards, the rematch clause he probably never gave any thought to as he never believed for a moment Klitschko wouldn't throw a right hand all night.

Can you imagine if it was Wlad who say was found guilty or if he had sprained his ankle & the fight had to postponed, what some of the silly Fury fans would have said?

UKAD dont release any info until all investigations and appeals are complete. We are only hearing about this now because it was leaked.

Its a dumb way of doing things in a sport which is so dangerous, but they did the same thing with Tony Thompson. He was able to fight a good few times in between failing a test and the press/public hearing about it

Hennessy's statement is a bit weak considering the seriousness of the allegations.

Nothing about team Fury's reaction or UKAD's response makes me think this is a nothing story.

That has only happened when old samples, stored in deep freeze, are taken out and tested again after new testing techniques are discovered.

This is not a new test on an old sample. According to the story, Tyson and Hughie produced these results in tests carried out early last year, and still only one UK newspaper knows anything about it!

Thompson tested positive for a diuretic and masking agent after his rematch with Price and was banned from competing in the UK - but not anywhere else - immediately.

The delay was in announcing that Thompson had been banned, not in banning him.

The news only came out after the 18 month ban was completed. Even Price didn't know anything about it till then!

Fury is a scumbag.

The ring their was nothing wrong with, it was the same as any German federation rules boxing ring. The gloves Fury knew which he would be allowed and what he was not,he agreed to all of this when he signed.

I wonder will Klitschko pursue legal action to be compensated for being cheated against.
