It's a disgrace...

Wilder has a fight. Ortiz is scheduled to fight Usitnov in September. Fury vs. Klitschko was scheduled. Parker just fought and is his mandatory. A fight we probably wouldn't have gotten for 2 years if AJ hadn't won the belt from Martin. Now the fight must be made by next April. Povetkin is a drug cheat. Haye is fighting Briggs. Fury is a mess. If he would've taken care of himself that's a fight that could've happened late this year. Is there really that big of a drop off from Breazele, Stiverne, Martin, Molina, Pulev, and the rest of the Heavies ranked 8-50? No it's not and Molina and Duhaupas proved it in their last fight. AJ is doing everything right. All you all want to do is complain.

How can you have zero problem with it when Breazeale is barely even a prospect?Comment

That's a horrible list of excuses.

AJ is a heavyweight title holder (having beaten a terrible "boxer"), he should be fighting better opposition. And unlike you I actually know the guy and know how frustrated he is with fighting these bums. Some of that frustration came out in his face off with Breazeale. He is bored with these bums chattin **** but not backing it up.
Having said all that, this thread is more about the sorry state of the challengers and not AJ. These guys coming to fight for heavyweight titles with man boobs. I train barely 3 or 4 times a week and am in better shape.
Either of those names would have been better as voluntaries.Comment

I hate that people seemingly with a lack of understanding of the perversity of the structure of boxing blame or downplay fighters more than the structure that have put boxers in the situation they are in currently. Joshua is playing the cards he's dealt.
Its more of a disgrace that the titles have been saturated so much that a guy in Joshua's position can even be a champion with his resume. And thats not a diss to Joshua at all. He's the most exceptional prospect in the HW division right now & if not for a title nearly everyone would rank him in the 2nd half of the top ten & probably mostly around 8th to 10th, but he's not realllly a champion & I think most of us know & accept that. Hell Wilder isn't reallllly a champion. Fury is the only real champion in the HW division. Wilder & Joshua are like assistant champions still, but respect to them for working their hustle with how boxing currently operates cuz that all they can really do outside of putting forth their best effort in the ring as far as their boxing careers go.Comment

I think Joshua is legit, but you're right about the shameful way he and his competition are hyped to be far greater than they are. That's true of a lot of British boxers right now. Look at the way they're selling Haye. Embarrassing.
I give credit to Fury for actually going straight to the top and earning a real title.

He was out of shape yet he lasted 7 rounds and never showed signs of fatigue? His fatigue was never an issue. Those punches to the face was the problem. You complain he should be fighting better competition because he's a champ. But you don't realize he has better competition because he's a champ. If he didn't have the belt the Parker fight may not have taken place until 2-3 years down the road. He took a voluntary, boo hoo. His record after 18 fights looks better than any other fighter out there after the same number of fights. It's not AJ's fault that the other Heavies, beside Wilder and Parker, can't get their **** together. AJ is handling his business and doing things the correct way. You gotta have a special type of hate in your heart not to like this guy. That's a horrible list of excuses.

Joe Louis had a Bum of the Month club. These guys are wishing for days gone by that never were.
