He was already the unanimous number 1 ranked 154 fighter in the world UNTIL he decided to fight Cotto. After that fight he lost his number 1 ranking because he won the lineal title for 160. So the moment he beats Smith and wins the strap at 154 he will automatically retain his number 1 ranking at 154 and rightfully so since he beat lara and has better wins then anybody else at 154 currently. This completely back fired on GGG.Comment

Should not be a surprise. Cherry picking fake champs like Wilder and Canelo always pick the weakest guy they can get away with. Shameless cowards looking to rip off fans while turning boxing into a laughing stock. Tuning into boxing scene is like watching a train wreck. I am literally entertained by how bad boxing is.Comment

So I thought you GGG fans been telling me he is middleweight and can't make 154? GGG. He's a Jr Middleweight who has been fighting just 1 pound over the limit for non title fights until last Nov when a title was on the line because Cotto wanted it that way. Let's be serious neither Cotto or Canelo were ever middleweights. Canelo will win a title at 154 and have all the leverage in the world with GGG. GGG could of avoided all this if his punk azz would of just agreed to a catchweight like a B side should. Instead he and his team said nope has to be at 160 like they calling the shots LMAO Ok then sit back and wait till Canelo is ready to move to 160.
Fools want Canelo to jump up to 160 when GGG refuses to jump up to 168 and he's the idiot that said I will go to 154 or 168 for money fights? What he really meant is unless it's for Canelo or Ward. In which case it has to be 164 for Ward and only 160 for Canelo. This completely backfired. You fools made your bed so sit at 160 and waste another year after you just got done waiting 2 years for Cotto/Canelo. GGG needs to dump K2 and get with a real promoter who will get him the fights he needs and better advice.
He wanted more interim fights and when GGG refused to agree to that, Canelo walked. Or ran, to be more accurate.Comment

Well he is back 154, he has dropped the MW belt, let him kill himself to make 154 because at the end of the day he is just punishing himself and we all know he has no intention of his promoter has no intention of putting him in with GGG at 160. Hopefully Team GGG can move on and focus on people that are willing to fight them.Comment

he just vacated his middleweight lineal claim......you can't be " lineal" and then hide at another weight... and he fought Lara at 155...so....everything wrong.Comment

Canelo will come in at "Caneloweight" and pay a fee to Smith. There will be no title at stake. He's been abusing his body for years now, he'll be shot before he turns 30 easily. If Smith can survive til the 9th round we may have a competitive 12 round fight.Comment
