Comments Thread For: Arum: Golovkin vs. Ramirez, We Have Deal in Principle For 2017

Two days ago, BoxingScene.com's Steve Kim broke the news that a potential Canelo Alvarez-Gennady Golovkin mega-fight will not take place until September 2017. A lot can obviously happen in that amount of time so a date that far out is far from set in stone.

I wonder if this would be before or after Golovkin fights Canelo? (If he ever does)

Since Canelo-Golovkin is agreed for September next year, I'd assume Ramirez fight would be around Cinco de Mayo.

But yeah, I have no problem with this.

"Obviously Golovkin would rather fight Canelo but he's coming to the realization that Canelo, despite the act that he put on after his last fight inviting Golovkin into the ring, has absolutely no intention to fight Golovkin and the true Mexican warrior - the guy who would not hesitate to go in the ring with Golovkin - with a good chance to beat Golovkin, is Zurdo Ramirez."
Oscar should've never blamed Bob for delaying the May-Pac fight. It's been downhill ever since

So in 2017 Golovkin has agreed to verbally fight Canelo, in principle to fight Ramirez, will be ordered by the WBA to fight Jacobs and will generate enough money to convince Saunders to fight.

I'll believe it when I see it.

May as well. He'll probably have all 4 title belts by then.

                    "tentative agreement"

Definitely a fight I'd love to see, but I'll believe it when I see it.
