Wilder was quick to throw accusations about and call him a cheater he brought legitimacy into question and he has threatened to sue Povetkins promoter, I guess the tables have turned.
Yeah when you use a banned substance, its cheating. And anyone can sue, its winning that matters, which absolutely won't happen.
34 mill is a bit high but they should get some significant monetary compensation.
Wilder defamed him when the levels in his blood were legal and he subsequently tested clean. Told the media he tested dirty when he didn't, pretended a postponement was a cancellation.
Meanwhile you have guys like Anthony Joshua running around "100% natural".
So a guy being labeled a cheater for having a banned substance in his piss is defamation, but you implying that Joshua, a fighter whose never tested dirty ever is anything but natural is perfectly fine?
End of the day it's NOT Wilder get investigated. It's Pedvetkin.
WBC has ZERO problem with what Wilder did and so do MOST boxing experts. It's only quacks!!! Who want a guy to fight a cheat. If the investigation comes back cool then Pedvetking is still #1 Challenger.
What you gonna say if he gets popped again??? You should start planning for those excuses now.

I don't need to make excuses for Povetkin. I just want to see this fight take place, and him getting popped with a trace amount of Meldonium isn't reason enough to kill it. Wilder hauled ass shortly after he heard about the failed test, before the WBC even had a chance to do anything. The sanctioning body stated that it had no choice but to postpone the fight because Wilder was determined to split.
The WBC says heavyweight titleholder Deontay Wilder's defense against Alexander Povetkin has been postponed after the Russian challenger failed a drug test.
