The problem is the fights being put on free TV. We've gone from Thurman/Guerrero to ****ing Smith/Fonfara. Meanwhile all the good fights have ended up back on Showtime. What fights they have built up through mismatches on free TV have ended up taking place on Showtime. What's the ****ing point of tuning in to CBS or NBC or ESPN to watch crap fights when I know the good ones require me to pay for Showtime? All their doing is reminding casuals of how difficult it is to follow boxing and why they went away from boxing to begin with.
PBC has totally screwed this up so far. This is a golden opportunity to help boxing and they've instead reminded people of everything that drove them away to begin with. PBC needs to start making all these matchups that they have, putting them on free TV, and giving people a reason to care again. Stop trying to portray fights like Thurman/Porter or Santa Cruz/Mares as big fights that need to be built up over years. Fights like that should be on PBC channels often.
