Hopkins found a way to shed a few pounds to fight A side Oscar...and he is taller than GGG.

Also while Mayweather Pac had small issues appear every time they were set to make the fight, this fight has two really big issues that I doubt will get resolved in a years time. That's weight and purse split. It was a big enough deal for Canelo to vacate his title. Will either side budge in a year? Probably not.

You're not really a fan if you don't understand why Canelo did what he did.

Canelo is the A side like Oscar was when he put a catchweight on Hopkins.

Difference being Hopkins understood he was the B side and dropped a few pounds then dropped Oscar.

GGG is such a small MW but couldn't drop a few pounds to make the fight of his career.

Lance pugmire says that Canelo is going down to 154 in September, then gaining weight gradually before ggg in September 2017. If the plan is to go up slowly why the hell is he going down a pound first?

At this point I gotta say it looks like Canelo ducks it next year as well.

If Canelo unifies 154 while Golovkin unifies 160, it'd be awesome. I think Eubank & Dereveyanchenko are better fights for GGG anyways, plus he'll have Saunders & Jacobs. Meanwhile Canelo has J-Rock/Charlo and Andrade/Lara winners.

GGG said as long as Canelo was defending the belt they would insist on 160, if he drops it then weight is flexible. This article doesn't say anything like Canelo offering 158 and ggg rejecting it, you're making a strawman argument.

Disappointing but I figured this was going to happen. Also according to Dan Rafael Canelo is moving down weight. So I'm sure that means Cotto or Smith is in play.

So much for the biggest fight being made. I just hope this isn't Mayweather vs Pac all over again where both waited to long to fight each other.
