I agree but still how many times has Oscar, Hearn, Penagracio made tom look like an idiot in the past two years alone? At some point you have to say fk it and air people out. Penagracio just jerked them out of nearly 1 million bucks because Tom didn't add proper language to that Cotto agreement, He was made to fly to the U.K. for virtually nothing, BJS is going to go fight someone else, he MIGHT..BIG IF get Eubanks. Oscar fed him David to appease him and keep him quiet, I mean if you are a promoter who i hope has a social media team are you not aware that the public is wondering why you can't lock down a big name..any big name? K2 is going to waste this man's best years by continuing to play nice. he should go talk to don king about options on fighters at this point because he should've walked away from that cotto canelo agreement with an option on the winner which would've forced that fight to happen.
Actually I agree, Loeffler has totally dropped the ball on a Canelo fight.
But I don't agree 100% with your last comment.....
..... " he should've walked away from that cotto canelo agreement with an option on the winner ".
You are correct in that not fighting either Cotto or Canelo is unjustifiable, but not in the manner that you are suggesting..... no way were they going to "win" Cotto OR Canelo by attempting to strong-arm them, or by using the WBC to manipulate them..... no way were they ever going to make those fights like that, and Golovkin should have fought BOTH of those guys.
Team Bull**** should have shut their big mouths and backed up their hollow-promises by fighting Cotto first, immediately after he LOST to Canelo, with an agreement to fight Canelo next.
A Cotto/Golovkin fight would have still been huge, especially with the prospect of Canelo/Golovkin next..... who in their right mind would not want to fight BOTH of those superstars?
How could they miss out on BOTH of those fights ?
Missing out on both of those fights is unjustifiable to the point of being totally inexplicable, especially considering this.....
Golovkin Would Fight Ward at 168 and Canelo at 154.....

I think that Canelo could end up fighting Saunders early 2017.
wouldn't that rip a few sets of knickers LMAOComment

Obviously not since those are 2 completely different situations.
Canelo and GGG are both MWs.
Canelo is unfortunately still the Lineal MW champion and was GGGs mandatory before he vacated his belt to avoid GGG.
Canelo even released a statement when he dropped the WBC title stating that he had "instructed his team to make the GGG fight as soon as possible"--- Which as everyone can see, really meant "as late as possible"
GGG/ Ward are in different divisions (Ward is 2 divisions higher now)
Ward was never GGGs mandatory or vice versa
GGGs team/ Roc Nation were never in any serious negotiations for a possible fight.Comment

Whenever GGG's name comes up most people somehow seem to drop out of reality, like it's still 2013 or 2014. You think GB ****ed K2? =) Just hold on a sec and look at the state of things. GGG wanted all belts - he has 3of4. And the 4th is not in the hands of a boxing fighter, it's in the pocket of the belttrader. No sane person doubts that GGG will beat BJS (BJS included), so they just want the the money, I bet BJS would even prefer to sell it with "no fight needed" deal.
Canelo wanted to inherit May/Pac popularity - he could not sell out t-mobile for his Khan fight even with all "GGG next" hype, and now 3of4 fans **** on him. And still some people go on oozing things like "GGG needs payday from Canelo". What more does Canelo have to give - belt given up? Canelo more popular than GGG? If you remember that it's 2016 u'll see that it's debatable.
And for those with some oldsh i t like "oh, GGG has no elite fighters on his resume"? When u say this plz give me at least one elite fighter of 2016 that you know GGG should fight that he did not try to get in the ring in the last 4 years at least once. Martinez, Cotto, Froch, Ward, Canelo (hell, even FMM) - all were approached and declined AND - coming back to Loeffler - some paid money, some gave belts.
P.S.: For those wishing K2 made some agreement with GB... r u serious? remind u the way GB honors agreements?Last edited by Vitar; 06-23-2016, 04:26 AM.Comment
