I would like to see Ward KO this guy using his right hand. His timing was a lil off still against Barrera, he looked like he was relying on pure athleticism (quick hands and legs) and not so much on timing and reflex. I know this guy isnt ideal for a tune-up, I wouldve preferred to see Ward fight a 6ft rangy type but there really isnt any orthodox fighters that match that description. Brand does have a long reach though just not height. Hopefully Ward just gets some rounds in (at least 8) and adjust the right hand.

Another elite-level boxer in a farcical mismatch. This sort of thing seems to be happening more and more often these days. It really sucks when guys with such talent don't go outside their comfort zones and mix it up with genuinely dangerous opponents.

One thing that worries me about this fight, besides it being a pointless mismatch, is that it's really not a good tune-up fight for Ward before he goes on to face Kovalev. Surely he could do with fighting somebody who would be more a challenge to sharpen him up? It makes me worry that he has no intention of actually going through with the Kovalev fight and will pull out citing an injury or something.

I really hope that I'm wrong. Time will tell.

Man this does not at all prepare him for Kovalev, I almost wonder if it would be better just to prep for Kovalev for 5 months instead of having to fight a completely different style in the interim. I mean it's not like ward gets fat between fights and needs a stay busy to get in shape
