Fonfara never clinches. For all the **** people give that tactic, it serves its purpose.

The commentator said(about Joe Smith) "the most dangerous fighter is a hurt fighter." That used to be so but in the post Pacquiao era, the most dangerous fighter is the *New and improved and suddenly much more powerful fighter.* The same thing happened to Adrian Estrella and too many others to name.

I have not followed Fonfara, so did not know him.... but even at the start of the fight... Joe Smith just looked ready and in far better shape.

He had a great counter punch that Fonfara was not expecting, then it was game over.

Props to Joe Smith for taking advantage and going for the finish.

Absolutely a career changer for the guy.

Joe smith really is.... Average Joe. =)

The path back for Fonfara is rather simple, imo; after a bit of rest, he comes back, to the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, and fights a guy like Edwin Rodriguez/Chad Dawson/Craig Baker/Marco Antonio Periban.

It definitely set things back a bit for a potential title shot, but Fonfara is now starting to establish himself as an attraction in Chicago, he puts on exciting TV-friendly fights, and there's seemingly a nice little crop of Polish fighters coming along who could use the continued exposure.

Smith's stoppage of Fonfara has to be the upset of the year thus far. I don't think anybody posting here, myself included, expected Smith to win and definitely not win by ko. Props to Smith. He just put himself in to a higher tax bracket. His stoppage of Fonfara was impressive.

ESPN should fire him. He's knows nothing about boxing. All he does is sit on his computer and write press releases

Then you got a guy like this that actually goes to amateur fights and visits gyms. It's a shame that ESPN spot is filled by someone who DKSAB
