Fonfara wasnt complaining when the fight was stopped and when the winner was being announced. In fact Fonfara was clapping and applauding his opponent.

But I would have loved for ref ref to give him the full count though and possibly allow him to continue.

I regret going to the icebox during the first.

Quality finish; he cannot have any complaints considering how heavily he landed on his arse!!

Fonfara screwed up. He stunned Smith early & went in for the kill, opening himself up for that vicious counter right. Smith is known for his power & Fonfara should have respected that.

Kinda struck by the difference in reaction to this fight and what happened last year between Jacobs and Quillin.

Lot of folks making rationalizations about what happened to Fonfara- he took the guy lightly, it was a lucky punch, etc.

Me? I think Fonfara got caught plain and simple by a guy maybe few of us heard of but who just might be legit anyway.

There isn't a light heavy in the world now fighting that doesn't get put on his ass by that shot...and hell no, it wasn't luck. That shot- and the reaction in general- looked like something that had been worked on to me.

But, through it all, few are saying that Fonfora was all hype.

Yet, Peter Quillin gets blown out by another highly rated (elite?) middleweight and I heard a lot of folks talking about how it was proof Kid Chocolate was all smoke and mirrors.

            Interesting...

Dude was a part-time boxer, full-time construction worker and he ragdolled Fonfara in the very first round.

Can't wait to see what Smith looks like now that he's training full-time.
