squash? I thought the idea is that he will neutralize the jab? Most heads are thinking a 12 rounder.

Odd question to ask. A lot question Golovkin's elite status. A pummeling of Canelo would go a long way toward answering that question. Or Canelo could expose GGG. I think what happens is GGG wins a fight that looks tough for a few rounds and Canelo gets called just another small bum.

        I agree 100%

Damn. Canelo is so overrated here on this forum. The guy barely has a jab and has a horrible footwork. His skills are vastly overrated. I cant understand how can someone find him more skillful than golovkin. Heres the thing, if both were to have headgears and fight 100 rounds amateur style for the win on points GGG would win 98 out of those.

I'm not biased against either fighter except the blatant ducking, but I see no way Canelo beats GGG, ever. You can see by the way he fought his last 3 fights that he lays on the ropes a lot, which will equal murder against GGG. This is a competitive fight but not a winnable one for Alvarez. And yes the jab will be effective against Alvarez. I don't see any reason it won't land regularly.

GGGs footwork is underrated especially against someone like Alvarez. Further, Alvarez fights in spurts and takes time off, in those instances, he will be getting hit and harder than he ever has before, and to the body a lot, and we know what happens when you take flush body shots from Golovkin.

Just my honest assessment of this fight (IF it ever happens.)

GGG's boxing IQ is underrated. He will take his time with Canelo. If Canelo is successful, GGG will pick up the pace. I always remember what Dirrell said about GGG, "He finds ways to attack and get in." He's had so many amateur fights, he's seen everything. I think Canelo would have success in spots but it's difficult to go a full twelve rounds with controlled aggression, let alone power in both hands. Canelo would have to knock him out inside eight rounds.

Only knock on Kirkland was he was inactive over a year because of beefs with his promoters over money and people worried if the rust would hurt him. But nobody called Kirkland shot and damn sure not angulo after he dropped and almost knocked out lara.
C'mon man. I like Canelo but don't try to sell that BS about Kirkland and Angulo. Perro's a tough dude and a scrapper sure, but never, ever, beat anyone even half decent and hasn't fought below 162 since Canelo. Guess the rumours about him struggling with weight may have had some substance. He came in at 175ish against Lara apparently, and yeah he decked Lara - but maybe that's partly because Lara, for all his panache is vulnerable on the move and was in against a guy 10lbs heavier.

And Kirkland? Yeah. He beat Perro. That's it. Unless you want to count the schooling he received off Molina? Oh yeah. And he'd been out of the ring for 18 months and reportedly ballooned to about 200lbs when the call came from Canelo.

Funny thing is that both Perro and Kirkland were names people knew and so were easy to sell, but in no world were they quality fights. I'm not ****ting on Canelo for this, other fighters do it too, but you should know better than to try to sell them as anything other than they were.
