i don't think that's a good first fight back. molina was 160 unofficially, and was probably around 155 lbs on fight night.

that's lightyears beyond the size of the guys mikey was fighting.

if you watch mikey spar you can see that he's got a long way before he can get his timing abck. 2.5 years is a long, long time to be laid off.

He's probly going to sign with Haymon. I don't think he wants anything to do with HBO after the whole Top Rank thing.

And how many months before Molina is ready for another fight? You mean you want Mikey to spend another 3-10 months before seeing him fight?

I don't get why people don't consider these things. They always say so and so fighter should wait for the winner of A and B fighters. Why effing wait? Why not fight someone who is available and ready? Especially when the fighter you're talking about has been off for months or years? SMH.

I hadn't really thought of that til Boxeo brought it up. Doesn't make sense that a guy trying to get down to 135 fights somebody weighing in at 160 fight night.

Make it a catchweight of 138 then.

Hey moron, who said wait for anything?

Mikey hasn't even signed to a promotional outfit yet. It's very conceivable that he might not fight for another 3-4 months.

Fans are accustomed to waiting for long periods of time. And boxing is mostly a fantasy sport. Fans are just happy discussing fantasy matchups. They don't even have to become reality. It's a f*kd up sport with delusional fans.

i think that it's a virtual certainty that he won't fight for another 3-4 months. it's not like he's been training like he's prepping for a fight. i'm sure he's ran and stayed in shape, but prepping for a 12 round fight is just lightyears away from staying sharp and trying to stay healthy and fit for 2.5 years.

mikey's gonna not only need 3-4 months to lose the wight and get ready to fight, he's going to need a tune up. i wouldn't put him in there with a guy in the top 25 for his first fight. maybe just take it to small TV, like boxeo tecate, etc. if you bring him back right he can get back to where he was. if you do it wrong you might wreck him.

Are you serious? I don't care how rusty Mikey is he will dominate Molina. Don't be fooled Molina looked like TRASH his 3 fights before ruslan. And came into that fight having won only 1 of his previous 4 fights with many questioning if he was a shot fighter. He just is not very good. His win says more about what level fighter Ruslan is now then anything about Molina. Molina get's beat by any decent fighter he faces next. And Mikey embarrasses him. I wouldn't mind the fight for a tuneup comeback but I just don't see it being very competitive.

                      I agree.

But I dont think a fight with Molina would "wreck him". Although the weight disparity could be a big issue on his first fight back. I see it as a good, safe comeback fight against a lower teir opponent coming off what is considered a "big win", who also poses a threat because of his power.

                      Seems ideal to me.
