There may be something to Canelo's claim. In an earlier report it was stated that when Canelo signed the alleged contract and a copy of Canelo's passport was shown along with a work visa that Star boxing got him. When was this visa gotten and the paperwork for it and does it match the dates of the signed contract? It is not like it would be a shock that a promoter would lie to a fighter if it served the promoters interests.

I may not be the biggest Nelo fan but from how this is sounding.. It sounds like star took advantage of Nelo ( who was 18 at the time and probably offered more money then he's ever seen before)and Oscar was able to get Nelo out of a **** contract( really 4 years plus if he wins a strap they can extend it beyond that).

Absolute rubbish by Canelo. He knew what this was all about and he should suffered the consequences. Who can trust Canelo anyway. Isn't this the same guy who claimed he wanted GGG then vacated? Trust him at your own risk, he's as phoney as Del Boy from Only fools and horses

I'm sure you have a lock on 'Phony Personified'.

                -------------------------------------------------

It isn't enough the fighter has to fight in the ring. He also has to fight any and every money grubbing goofball who comes 'round.

LOL yea. I think this is one of those few times that I've seen so many people auto-thinking a promoter is 100% for sure on the up & up with a fighter. I guess it probably stems from the other side being seen as a bigger, eviler promoter in GBP.
