I'm no expert but those purses sound reasonable. Loma is the main attraction and the Puerto Rican is the main attraction in the undercard. His opponent only getting 15 thousand does seem stingy though. Arum could afford to do him better than that.

I think Arum should have made things right for both fighters, that's his job. I think his attitude toward the issue is what really bothered Walters.

BTW, don't recall many people claiming Loma was scared of Walters. From my perspective I thought it was a situation where the business side of boxing prevented the fight.
A lot of people were saying that Loma was scared.
Maybe Walters should have tried to make 126. Him and his fans did say he could make 126 after all. However, as soon as negotiations got serious they seemed to change their mind.
Loma was going to fight in April, which meant he had three fights guaranteed for this year, Loma has to stay more active as you know. Now thanks to Walters Loma doesn't fight until June and who knows if he'll get two more dates this year, if he beats Martinez of course, as a Loma fan I hope he can get two more fights this year but who knows.

Loma gets paid a lot because of the fanfare he received as an amateur. He was billed as the best amateur who ever laced them up. He probably got lots of attractive offers for turning pro and Top Rank wanted him bad enough to give him a big signing bonus and an attractive purse guarantee.

Bob Arum is aware he is not a money maker and seems to be in acceptance for it. Who knows though what the future holds for Loma. If he gets some key fights, he might become a lower level star.

What I want to know is why the guy who KO'd Nonito Donaire(Walters) was offered 50 percent less to fight the guy who lost to Orlando Salido (Lomachenko).

HBO is obviously enamored with Lomachenko the say way they are with GGG and Alvarez. I don't blame Walters for not taking that fight.

Lomachenko is about as popular as women's softball in America.

Loma has done nothing to earn an $850,000 purse. He is the main attraction in the eyes of the HBO upper management. He is not a main attraction in the eyes of fans. GGG sold 15,000 tickets in his last couple of fights, even though the tickets were being sold for $10 each. I doubt if Lomachenko sells 5000 tickets to this fight. He has done nothing to earn twice as much money as Nicholas Walters.

Spoken like a true moron. Especially the fact that you bring in Golovkin somehow this. Just shows why you can't trust most anti-GGG ******s.

1.5 million for this card is pathetic. You could have done Walters vs Loma for that.

Stop lying to yourself. Walters was offered a career high purse. Not outsized money but good money unless he's trying to protect an undefeated record. Lol on Ggg gate
