There will always be inconsistencies when it comes to purses. Lara, a boring fighter with 12 fans, for example, got nearly $3 million for fighting Smith, Rodriguez and Zaveck. It led to a mediocre rematch with Martirosyan. Waste of money. Haymon could have spent such huge money on more meaningful fights.

I don't care how much he makes as long as it doesn't prevent fights being made. That's the problem here he makes too much that you can't make a fight with Walters. It will be tough to justify to the networks paying him so much when he can't draw fans. That means he either fights low level opponents who will take cheap money or Arum or the network takes a loss paying the extra money out of pocket for events that lose money. Good luck with that more likely no Walters fight. And HBO can just air rematches of Vargas/Murat, Vargas/Salido, put in Walters against either of those 3 guys and all these fights much cheaper and get better ratings then Loma draws.

Weird logic there, buddy. It's important to us because HBO is slashing budgets and fight dates yet some fighters are still getting overpaid for crap matches with money that could better be used for better fights.
