I use to think anything over 1.2 was good #s for HBO but now it's probably a million.

It's just funny reading BigDunny spin the second worst rated HBO boxing event into a positive and another PBC doomsday thread. But according to him the PBC should have folded what 2-3 months ago and boxing fans can get all the boxing they want need from Ring TV streams and that powerhouse channel Estrella a channel that 1/50 people know exist

Honestly who cares this was a good weekend of boxing Vargas/Salido in a barn burner, Barthemly / Bey & and Beterbiev showcase fight plus I caught up on the Bellew fight not a bad weekend.
Not sure what HBO expected from the card, but it seems like it was prolly relatively cheap from their perspective:

    Dan Rafael‏@danrafaelespn · Jun 3
Purses per CSAC: Vargas $300k, Salido 50k (plus much more via Mexico), Lopez 30k, Ramirez 30k, Rosado 50k, Gutierrez 10k #VargasSalido

Huge difference. Apples and oranges. Not even worth comparing a world championship fight featuring a FOY fighter on HBO against an ESPN card featuring a non English-speaking 8-0 fighter in the main event. So many differences that it's not even worth comparing.

Here are numbers which are worth comparing:

Avg audience 2011 Boxing After Dark: 1,014
Avg audience 2012 Boxing After Dark: 792
Avg audience 2013 Boxing After Dark: 875
Avg audience 2014 Boxing After Dark: 858
Avg audience 2015 Boxing After Dark: 730
Avg audience 2016 Boxing After Dark: 716

Lost 30% of the audience since 2011. No way to spin those numbers. Perhaps that's why HBO is cutting its boxing programming so significantly.

For comparison, what percentage of their audience has SHO lost since the start of the PBC?

So better then it didn't again most boxing after dark cards in 2015 and only 30% down from 5 years ago a life time ago in cable terms before cable cutting and other dynamic shifts in cable. Almost everything is down from 5 years ago. But PBC down 50% from their last Sat night card is no big deal? Unless you are a complete idiot PBCs ratings are far more disturbing then HBO doing PAR for the course.

              Excellent question.

Pre-PBC: avg audience 2014 Showtime Championship Boxing 593K
Post-PBC: avg audience 2015 Showtime Championship Boxing 562K

              Showtime lost about 5%.

So...SHO lost 5% in 1 year and HBO lost 30% in 6 years?

Do you have the numbers for HBO WCB too? Are the drops in BAD and WCB the same?

Yeah I'm ****** , but your pathetic literally been saying the same thing for a year + writing 1000 word essays hoping that PBc fails

I've seen you discredit and sh.it on the most watched boxing telecasts when it comes to PBc who have what 4/5 of the highest rated shows the last 2 years and praise, give props and spin everything Related to GB and HBo ratings even when it's their lowest rated shows . Your either a GB employee or a f.uckin ******

Seriously will Oscar refuse to cut the cheque if you don't act like this sites #1 GB cheerleader . I bet Oscar broke you off some of his fishnets, makeup & pom poms from his personal collection to get you in the right frame of mind when you write your sh.it

Yeah doesn't seem like a expensive show, so they probably weren't expecting much. But I f.ucking hope Salido got allot more then 50k and almost equal to Vargas because he deserves every dollar for that performance.

That's NOT 5 years ago LMAO. that's last cards last year. Showtime about 60% down from last year but you ignore those guys falling off a cliff overnight in ratings. But HBO only down if you go back a half a decade. SMH

                      Comedy.

First of all, it's "cord-cutting," not "cable-cutting." And it is vastly overblown: The Myth of TV Cord-Cutting

Second, if you look at BAD's viewership, it's down nearly 20% since 2014...which is well after the supposed advent of cord-cutting.

Third, regarding ESPN ratings...only an idiot would draw alarmist conclusions after seeing the ratings for one show when the entire boxing series has been off the network for 18 months.
