"What an arrogant prick. No wonder his peers @espn diss him. BTW I don't recall saying 'world title.' https://twitter.com/danrafaelespn/st...38081743491073

Lol WOW--I always noticed him talking down to Brian campbell in his chats. Dan is a surprise for sure and should be DAMN lucky he has the job he has. He's not likable, his reporting is sub par, and he acts unprofessional and arrogant all the time.

"Happy to make it official! I have signed a new contract to remain at ESPN covering #boxing for years to come! http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-re...016/01/175841/ …"---Dan Rafael

I'm not jealous trust me. But sometimes I wonder about certain people in top tier positions and Dan is one of those guys. I'm still in my late 20's with a decent job and a degree, but what does a network like ESPN see in a guy like Dan? Dan is pulling in 200k a year easy. Does Dan increase boxing ratings? no, it just doesn't seem like a good investment.

ESPN should just hire Nigel Collins to write everything...

That ESPN platform could be used better by someone who loves the sport & promotes it. Rafael is a fan boy. He has his favorites and promotes them instead of the sport. Boxing journalism is the most unethical journalism in all of sports. It's even worse than political journalism. When I watch the news they'll tell you this guest works for canidate A or this guest belongs to this organization which leans right or left. In that 5 part series about Haymon, Hauser & Ring had to be shamed into adding a disclaimer that he's a boxing consultant for a boxing content provider. Disclaimers are run of the mill when a guest may have a conflict of interest.

****ing enormous dude. walked by him in the hallway backstage once, and i literally had to turn to the side to let him walk by.

boxing writers with geniune journalistic capabilities and connections are rare these days, and in terms of a news source he's unfortunately one of the very best. has connections. some knowledge. decent writer. you take what you can get in a sport where the "journalists" pay their own way and have day jobs.

That is true without question...katz was inducted into the hof, i doubt dan will ever be. I've met both, and rafael is a decent guy...while katz is a complete d bag.
