This is good news. The fact that this fight was even being entertained by some is just sad. It would have been a complete side-show and disrespectful to the sport.

The negative from this is like Mayweather gave UFC even more momentum over his own sport. Watch how McGregor vs Diaz II does crazy PPV Numbers especially after the Mayweather vs McGregor talk. Casuals will tune in and check out McGregor next fight and I'm sure the Mayweather talk will continue during the build up of McGregor vs Diaz II

Guys UFC is way different! You all say floyd jumped 5 divisions! Yes throughout his career!
Conor McGregor jumped from feather to welter! In boxing 147 is welter and 170 is middleweight! McGregor was 145 feather jumping 25lbs inside 5 months no boxer did this that quick! It was an error.

Lets see theres this guy named Roy Jones Jr who weighed in at 174 vs clinton woods then went up to the heavyweight division which is 200 pounds and higher(roy chose to come in light and weighed in at 193) to fight a guy who had a 33 pound advantage and weighed in at 226 and still Roy was able to win and take home the heavyweight title.

I wouldn't quite say it's dead just yet. Floyd wanted the fight on New Year's Eve, not September. And it could always happen later if the conditions are right. Hopefully though, that's the end of it and we can move on. Conor/Diaz can break records, and Floyd can cherrypick another easy opponent and have another flop fight.

They should have a fight half way between MMA and boxing. At least use MMA gloves. That would throw Floyd a little. Whatever they do though they need to give Floyd a big advantage though because he won't take the fight otherwise.
