He isn't really smaller than GGG, he can just make 155 easily because he's young, but he rehydrates bigger than GGG. He knows even if GGG is a similar size, at 34 he would kill himself making 155.
He's basically just following suit of being the A-side. De La Hoya used his A-side status meaning Floyd had to accept any De La Hoya demand. Then when Floyd become the A-side, he just did what De La Hoya did to him. So when Canelo become the A-side, he's just doing what Floyd did to him. It's not just Canelo or those guys. Manny did it too, managed to get the likes of Cotto to accept the weight demands and other things.
