LOL at him basically just saying nope fight is still postponed. LOL okay, but does a postponement work like that in boxing?. To me a postponement in boxing means a fight is happening, its happening next for each guy & once we get past some injury or problem of some sort the fight is on next for both guys. Wilder gots another fight up next. The WBC guy confirmed it ffs. Thats not a postponed fight. Wilder vs Povetkin has been canceled, but yea sure it can be re-scheduled at some future date. Idk maybe its semantics, but I think the WBC guy is playing semantics more than I with making up **** about a postponement when Wilder gots a fight & Povetkin may or may not still be suspended for a considerable amount of time.
Also at this point I agree you gotta suspend Povetkin for some period of time. Even if its a bs period like 6 months or something. The clean, dirty, clean test order is sketchy anyway you slice it. And right now with the WBC's new program to test their top 15 I think it'd be bad PR for them (not that there a stranger to that) to not do SOMETHING here. Then in 6 months they can throw Povetkin back into a mandatory position or worse case make him fight another eliminator to regain his mandatory position.Comment

That's absolutely incorrect.
To quote WADA, "The mere presence of meldonium in an athlete’s sample collected on or after 1 January 2016 constitutes an anti-doping rule violation under article 2.1 of the Code." https://wada-main-prod.s3.amazonaws....-notice-en.pdf
In cases where the level of meldonium is low, then depending on the date of the test, WADA has the discretion to determine that the positive test was the result of ingesting meldonium before it was banned (i.e., before 1/1/16).
HOWEVER, in Povetkin's case, the fact that there were three negative tests before the positive test means that there is no possibility that the test was the result of ingesting meldonium before it was banned, because if it was left over traces from 2015 doses of meldonium, then the early samples would have tested positive too.
In other words, in no one's eyes is Povetkin "clean."
According to your link which I have already read, he is clean on a detection basis unless they rule that he ingested an extreme micro dosage between tests:
Results management may be stayed:
a.
If the concentration is between 1 and 15 μg/mL and the test was taken before 1 March 2016, given that the results of ongoing excretion studies are needed to de termine the time of the ingestion.
b.
If the concentration is below 1 μg/mL and the test was taken after 1 March given that the results of ongoing excretion studies are needed to determine the time of the ingestion.
But WBC has taken over the investigation so who knows what they will decie.Last edited by ////; 06-03-2016, 06:11 PM.Comment

I don't think you understand, you can't "punish" a fighter after he successfully passed all his tests.Comment

Lets quit bsing like there isn't a problem here. If everything was 100% on the up & up why didn't we all see this fight 2 weeks ago? Why did the WBC guy "postpone" the fight if nothing happened here? Why is Wilder fighting a whole other guy next?Comment

Its just another heavyweight fight .
This **** ain't no legacy fight
How can it be a legacy fight if neither guy has a legacy?
That's like saying Gamboa was a legacy fight for crawford because he was the best guy crawford had ever faced.
Mosley vs de la hoya
Hopkins vs tito
Ward vs Kovalev
Jones jr vs Toney
Tyson vs Holyfield
mayweather vs pacquiao
Hearns vs leonard
morales vs barrera

Last I checked, they don't "postpone" fights because of passed test. All of the post January 1st meldonium protocol was in place last month. The red flag is the positive test following multiple clean tests. So now the labs are being questioned?Comment
