That's a whole lot of ifs, all assuming Ward gets and wins fights and GGG doesn't.
I know exactly what you said, and I'm saying is untrue. He'd be the most talented, maybe. I'm not quit convinced. In four years Lara has beaten how many top tens? J-rock and Andrade call him out, he isn't responding to either.
But being the most talented doesn't mean you're the biggest name. Reading comprehension is exactly the issue here,
You missed the whole point of his rebuttal. But here let me help you:
Andre Ward's top 5 biggest fights:
Chad Dawson
Carl Froch
Arthur Abraham
Mikkel Kessler
Edison Miranda
GGG top 5 biggest fights:
Marco Antonio Rubio ??????????
Martin Murray ?????????.
Daniel Geale ?????????
Willie Monroe Jr ??????????
David Lemieux ??????????????
The point was made that GGG has had the chance to move up or down to make his legacy. The issue with his promoter, trainer, and team is they are trying to build him as the greatest Middleweight in the history of boxing, instead of the greatest p4p fighter in the history of boxing. His unwillingness to move up or down for anyone at his age is not good. He is not a big money draw when he is fighting bums. And his one headline on PPV fell flat.
The chance was there to fight a Ward and that team shook because they did not want to move up. No matter what Loffer tried to sell the public. HBO has both of them under that banner and the fight did not happen. Probably one of the easier potential opponents for GGG. GGG and his team need to give up that Canelo dream for now and focus on the fights that can get made #1 is Lara.
I have said it before to be considered great you have to be willing to move up or down. He doesn't lose his middleweight status by doing that, and it is proving he dares to be great.Comment

He's wba champion (mandatory challenger to Golovkin), is already locked into a 25/75 share on the fight if K2 doesn't negotiate, and, with Barcalys Center and Showtime both throwing their weight behind him, his promoter(likely to be Lou DiBella) is well positioned to beat whatever bid that K2 could put on the table (Barclays site fee to host Golovkin-Jacobs, Showtime possibly putting the fight on PPV and backing it with marketing dollars, UK relationships with both BoxNation and Sky Sports, etc).
If K2 continues to act as if Jacobs isn't already the guy they'll be mandated to fight after the Alvarez negotiation ruse is over, they've ****ed themselves anyway. There's no need for Jacobs to say anything.Comment

You wanted a response which is why you asked a ****** question. Why would we care about another MAN looking old?Comment

With Saunders, Lara, Eubank, and Chavez all calling out Golovkin, I'm fine with Jacobs not wanting any. But it's no secret, Danny has a hard time making 160lbs and as he gets older it'll get tougher. Maybe he just want to make another title defense or two then move up without having to take a loss to GGG. That way he can move and market himself as a former MW champion.
When Golovkin was in Jacobs' position, he pushed the WBA multiple times to make the Sturm fight.Comment

Very well could be true, but I'm not convinced until Eubanks fights another world class fighter. He overpowered his last two, but good boxer can negate force. In my opinion at least, Eubanks improvements are untested.

Golovkin's had 9 fights on HBO; to simply assume that he's still under some indefinite contract with HBO is foolish.Comment
