Wasn't Cotto ranked higher at MW then GGG?? And wasn't GGG trying to fight???

I bet if Cotto fought GGG he would of been a full ranked #1 MW by your standards. But as soon as ANYONE else beats him he's back into a pumpkin is a BUM!!!

      Wrong again

Cotto was never a MW but was good enough to take advantage of an injured champion looking to cash out

As soon as that happened, it was natural that GGG would want to fight him

BTW, you are under the mistaken impression that I am pro-GGG

      I am not

I am anti-GBP and all their BS

The sooner that Canelo's fans see their rubbish for what it is and start boycotting his PPVs until he steps up to the plate, the better it will be for boxing

After all, Amir Khan has just fought for the MW championship of the world despite not being a legitimate threat at 147

What was your thoughts on Geale vs. GGG not even 1 year before???

"Golovkin vs. Geale -On July 26, 2014, Golovkin defended his title for the 11th time, defeating The Ring's #2-rated Middleweight Daniel Geale via a third round stoppage"

I remember a lot of hype??? And blah, blah, hype, hype...As always when they FIGHT GGG they are GOLIATH. And when it's ANYONE else it's Cinderella's Pumpkin struck midnight time.

Don't stress Iknow exactly what type of fan you are.

            Ha Ha

I'm Australian and very well aware of how relatively ordinary Geale is

He over-achieved by winning a belt in the first place (he was beaten by a shell of Anthony Mundine ffs) before initially ducking GGG

When he fought GGG and Cotto especially, it was simply for a pay-day

Geale will next be seen fighting a novice in a suburban pub in Sydney

Isn't that the same clock that turns ANYONE GGG fights into Superman and when they fight anyone else they turn into POS BUMS???

I hear so much BS how "House Arrest" Wade was UNDEFEATED!!! This is some of the BS GGG fans brought up.

              1. He won Silver Gloves five times.
              2. Holds the RECORD with ODH
              3. Junior Olympics silver medal winner
              4. BEAT Shawn Porter BUT they made HIM lose by disqualification
              5. Fought Danny Jacobs and BARELY lost

Then I saw the odds... 100-1 underdog which = a 99% chance of LOSING! If I bet $1000 I'll let you do the math on that one???

              Vs. Mario Lemuix

              Baddest MW on the PLANET
              SUPER DONKEY KONG KO POWER!!!!
Gonna be FIGHT of the Year

Then I saw the odds... 18-1 dog = 94.74% chance of LOSING!!! WhyTF would I pay $60+ to see that BS???

Guess what CanYellow vs. Khan was??? 3-1 with Khan having a 25% chance of WINNING!!! Plus had a GREAT undercard and I don't really like Khan, so seeing him get KO'd was WORTH IT!! Now I have MAD respect for Khan and SHT respect for Canyellow.

At least with CanYellow I get KO of the YEAR. And USUALLY FIGHT of THE YEAR!!!

KO of the Year CanYellow vs. Khan 2016
GREAT fight they replayed later Diego De La Hoya (Gonna be a real contender/Superstar) vs. Rocco Santomauro

Fight of the Year Nominee Francisco Vargas vs. Takashi Miura 2015
KO of the Year CanYellow vs. Kirkland 2015

Mayweather vs. Canelo 2013 (Garbage fight)
GREAT undercard Garcia-Matthysse - Ever hear of either one??

Ok then I take that back! You'll call a BUM or BS no matter who they are fighting. Since your from there, you know how much hype Geale got though. Probably everyone from coast to coast said they knew and how GREAT he WAS/IS. And you probably wanted to PUKE!!!

Unifying 154lbs would be the best way for Canelo to both redeem himself and grow respect for his name.

That actually would be DAMN smart!!! That would mean he BEAT

                    Jermell Charlo - WBC
Jermall Charlo/ Julian Williams - IBF
                    Erislandy Lara - WBA
                    Liam Smith/Cotto/Andrade - WBO

And ALL are TALLER (Except Cotto)

ALL blow up to 170lbs (Except Cotto and don't know about Liam) and will be within 5 lbs of each other.

Boxing is very much a niche sport in Australia and is really in the doldrums here as the vast majority of great athletes participate in other sports and the casuals only tune in for massively hyped events (e.g. May-Pac) or when they want to see Mundine get ko'd (even that is old news now)

It's sad but I can guarantee that infinitely more viewers would pay to watch some random footballer take on a faded star than say Ward - Kovalev

Geale did himself no favours with his performances against GGG and Cotto as Australians dont take kindly to running up the white flag and this explains why he is now fighting for a few bucks in a local club

Having said that, he was never a "star" here of the magnitude of say Mundine (who not only brought cross-over appeal from his footy days but was also almost universally hated), Tszyu or especially Fenech

Bleak times for the sport here I'm afraid as there is literally nobody catching the public's imagination
