First off, I want the Golovkin/Lara fight. I see Golovkin displaying his skills brutally against a high-level defensive specialist.
As far as Lara goes - the guy hasn't done himself any favors. In his lost to Canelo, he looked fully capable of outboxing Canelo, but he spent way to much time fighting in a negative fashion on the run. Since then he's done very little. He fought Ishe Smith, in a fight where even Floyd Mayweather was making fun of Lara for running. In his next two fights, Lara embarrassed himself choosing to fight two retired WW's - Delvin Rodriguez (who Cotto destroyed effortlessly) and Jan Zaveck.
Lara just got by far his biggest win in 3 years (Trout), by beating Martirosyn. Martirosyn was already beaten by Jermell Charlo & Demetrius Andrade. Lara's not exactly breaking the sound barrier here.
People like you trip on Golovkin's resume, and then try to make Lara out as his boogeyman. Lara fighting Zaveck & Rodriguez would be equivalent to Golovkin fighting the current versions of Bundrage and Angulo.Comment
