Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: Kell Brook Wanted No Part of Liam Smith

This weekend sees the innovative free to air TV channel Dave continue their coverage of live sport. The BDO World Darts Trophy, a marathon three-day event of live darts will be live and exclusive on Dave over the bank holiday weekend. The tournament will see the top players from the BDO contest for over 150,000 in prize money. It follows hot the heels of their latest boxing event, headlined by David Haye's capitulation of his grossly overmatched opponent, Andrei Gerjei.

I like both Kell Brook and Liam Smith, I think Liam Smith's style would be tough for any of the light middleweight top fighters. However I think Kell would be the favourite but wants to prove he is the top welterweight first, Frank Warren is just talking shizzer knowing Liam is not in his current plans

The first half of the article is criticising Haye for fighting easy opponent after easy opponent while waiting for an undeserved big payday to drop in his lap, the second half is bigging up Liam Smith for doing the exact same thing.

Well, probably because you offered him less money than he got for fighting Bizier.

I don't mind Warren sometimes, he's a bit of a crook but sometimes he speaks sense but he needs to stop spouting off that everyone's avoiding Liam Smith. I like Smith actually, good fighter but i don't think anybody is avoiding him.

Why would Brook have any interest in fighting Liam Smith? First, Smith is unknown outside of the UK; second, he's in a different weight division; third, despite his title, he's barely in the top 10 in his division. He offers no risk to Brook but scant reward either. Brook is after bigger fish than Smith, and at welterweight not light-middleweight.

Brook ducking Smith? All I know is, Canelo would knock Smith out. Without a doubt, no question about it.

Liam Smith is unknown IN the UK let alone outside the UK.

It is a fight that makes sense or would do if Canelo stopped fighting at his ludicrous 155 pound weight class.
