Comments Thread For: Gerald Washington: Deontay Wilder Title Fight is 'Very Possible'

Unbeaten heavyweight contender Gerald Washington believes a fight with WBC world champion Deontay Wilder is 'very possible' in the coming months. On Wednesday Wilder was granted permission from the World Boxing Council to make a voluntary defense, after his May 21 mandatory clash with Alexander Povetkin was postponed following the Russian challenger failing a pre-fight drug test.

wilder doesnt have many options in wbc top 15 rankings this is only likely candidate. looking at the names tho most are already scheduled to fight or just got done fighting.

its good to see that a lot of the hate directed at wilder has calmed a ton now that people saw he was gonna goto russia and fight didnt back down one bit and because of a cheater he cant. i think that gained him a lot of respect for most people

George Washington would have a better chance of beating Deontay Wilder.

Did you really mention David Haye...HAHAHA!!

Anyway Povetkin messed it all up

Number 2 is Stiverne and Wilder already beat him. Only top ten worth mentioning is Pulev

He already beat him to the presidential race though..

If it is Gerald Washington that you are referring to, then he is pretty much a tall HW who doesn't pack enough punch to knock out journeymen like Gavern.. Wilder will smoke him under 7 rounds.. Wilder has to face someone within top 10 because the competition only gets tougher from here on..

Give it a rest David haye on his own bum tour and Ortiz isn't ranked by WBC and already signed to fight just waiting on date from HBO to eliminate the champions in WBA rankings he has two more fights lined up afterwards
