maybe because it made Pac 5 lineal titlist while your floyd only got 4 and then since someone's better than floyd now,

genius floyd fan started this thread to unrecognized lineal title.

The ring title and the lineal title aren't the same.

They are historically synonymous...although new/recent changes to their rules have deviated from the original purpose.

Mayweather is a 5 time lineal titlist. FW, LW, WW x 2, JMW.

BTW just like the P4P #1 spot Pacquiao only got it because Mayweather retired. You should thank him.

I'm not ready to say he's better than Klitchsko or Luis Ortiz until he beats both convincingly
He beat Wlad pretty convincingly but yeah, an argument can be made that Wlad is still better hence the rematch. But Ortiz? Wtf has Ortiz done that Fury hasn't? That's bs and you're trying too hard.

Most fighters only get the p4p no.1 spot because of a retirement and/or loss. Example, Mayweather only got ranked number one cos Hopkins lost and only got ranked no. 2 because Oscar, Mosley and Jones went on a down turn in their careers.

Mayweather didn't lose and would have been #1 until he did if he didn't decide to take some time off. Also Pacquiao would have probably never have got the DLH fight which launched him as a superstar. Pacquiao benefited from Mayweather stepping out of the limelight.

isn't that the whole problem with the p4p #1 and linear champs? once they have those accolades they don't have to take risks or prove anymore they are the best.

and mayweather benefitted from being on american tv. he was #2 after beating genaro manfredy and juuko hmmm ok. was pac anywhere on the top 10 after being lineal champ at 112...nope so floyd had the easier road to get to #1. comparing them is kind of futile

Mayweather beat Hernandez to become lineal, Pacquiao beat Sasakul. Which deserved more recognition?
