my bad im think about ring magazine....but yea 1 &2

Martinez beat Pavlik....lineage goes all the way back to hopkins

to be lineal champion you have to actually beat the champ or establish lineage ...not sit back and let the belt be handed to you.

he was already handed 2 belts....the lineal title is a title that you actually have to fight for...deal with it
Canelo did move down. By his admission he's a Sww, not a Mw. Too small, belt vacated.

thank you for pointing this out and its mostly his fan boys who say stuff like this

the man who beat the man is the champion...its a pretty simple concept.

Roy Jones was my favorite fighter all time but I was never so biased that I didnt get Dariusz Michalcewski his credit for being the lineal champion.

i never heard it be minimized until these GGG fan boys started spewing that crap.
I've criticised lineages for a long time on this forum. Consensus is king, it always has been and always will be. Literally no-one cares about your WBC title, or your lineal title or whatever, people only care about who the best is. Those titles only matter when the best holds them.

But really, how hilarious is it, that a poster like you is crying out about bias? You are literally flip side of the coin of the posters you refer to here. Get a grip

Gtfo loser. Ggg didn't sit back, he even made himself mando to lineal champ who could no longer drag it out and forfeited in shame

beat the 'champ', oh you mean the 'lineal champion'... aka 'the man', which we already know means nothing. It just means you beat the previous 'man', who could have one leg, half a brain, or whatever. To me, 'the man' is the man to beat, the premier fighter in the division. Its a little bit different in the lineal system..

Golovkin is the real man at middleweight, he's the universal no.1. How can anyone else be 'the man'? He's not just because of some bizarre rules set about in a mostly unrecognised 'lineage' system. Lineages need some sort of legitimacy, and without Golovkin the middleweight lineage currently has none. We can't just assume they mean something just because 'lineal' doe, as if Canelo has a claim to Hopkins legacy.

how can you be considered the best win you havent beaten the top contenders?

the eye test isnt enough...you actually have to beat the top contenders to be considered the best.....thats why no one questions Chocolatito opposition...he fights top ten contenders regularly.

Lemieux was rated 5 or 6...that leaves several guys over him that GGG hasnt fought

the only good fighter he has faced the last 2 years is David Lemieux

Martin Murray was considered top ten at the weight but he literally lost to every world rated fighter he fought

Middleweight is wide open. its guys with better best wins than GGG, and also top middleweights he hasnt fought.

To be the best in proven in the ring.

he'll be the champion when he earns it in the ring...thats one thing in boxing that is consistent.

you dont get credit for fights that dont get made

you dont assume in boxing.....we have to see the fights. if fights were won by assuming then upsets wouldnt exist

It's not just at WW either.

Morales 1 coming off a loss to Barrera
Morales 2 coming off a loss to Raheem
Barrera 2 coming off a loss to Marquez

The guy targets people coming off of losses.
