Why do people think that Mayweather doesn't have any power?

And to be fair, if he pressed for knockouts, he would have more at Welterweight. He had Guerrero hurt in round 8 or 9 and Cotto hurt bad in the 12th IIRC

He's too cautious to press for a KO, unless he can sucker punch like he did Ortiz.

I really see people all over the place on YouTube saying he's weak. When Mosley literally said that he has about as much power as Canelo.

He fights off hisback foot mostly and when you do that you are not turning all your power into a punch. When he comes forward though like he did against Ortiz and Mosley, you could tell those punches hurt. Hes just more defensive is all but he can hurt you...

He doesn't have monstrous power and he doesn't let his hands go much nowadays. So he isn't knocking anyone out. But his punches clearly have some sting on them. No1 really ever walks through them.

People gauge power based on KO%. Mayweather is quick with single shots that his opponents don't see coming. Those hurt and that's why you see a lot of big punchers hesitant to throw.

Floyd is physically strong but he doesnt have KO power. I think it has a lot to do with his brittle hands and also the fact that he doesnt sit on and commit to his punches. He prefers to strike like a cobra.

Floyd does damage as a result of accumulated and accurate punches.

Then why not press for the ko? Because he can't. He had the pop early in his career when he was fighting at lighter weight but since moving up none at all

Just not his style man, he clearly hurt Berto with a uppercut just like he did Cotto...i mean you can watch it yourself and see ti happened..he floored Jmm and still didnt press for the ko
