It wasn't a joke; and I suspected he might have two families.

(I don't use to make jokes on people who defected from a communist country.)

If your gonna hate at least speak with some sense
      1. Golovkin-Lara is not a PPV fight (Golovkin-Lemieux wasn't a PPV fight either, but HBO chose to go that way with it, so there's that).

      2. As most post history will indicate, I don't think that Gennady Golovkin is anywhere near as big a star as K2/HBO and his fans would have folks believe. If K2's plan is to take Golovkin's next fight to Texas, the Dallas Mavericks (American Airlines Center - 18.5k seats), Houston Rockets (Toyota Center - 18k seats), and San Antonio Spurs (AT&T Center -18.5k seats) all have venues that a star like Golovkin can consider.

reading comprehension helps when you try

GGG doesn't have an opponent for Sept. Lara would be the perfect opponent to try his hand at PPV again. **** I'd buy that fight!

Okay I didn't know you were a GGG fanboy. I mistook you for a boxing fan.

Because of the Lemiuex numbers, it's doubtful HBO would put GGG v Lara on ppv. Wouldn't sell. Therefore paying Lara that much us a losing proposition.

Lara needs to be willing to take a small enough purse to make it work.
Lara isn't going to get a "big payday", but K2 isn't going to get him to come over for what they paid Willie Monroe Jr either.

            That's why you negotiate.

The total disclosed purse payouts for Golovkin-Wade ended up being just short of $3m (http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2016/4/23...00-boxing-news). With Roman Gonzalez apparently moving on to his own shows, K2 needs to stop playing around.

Golovkin gets his disclosed purse (plus whatever his share of the European money is), Lara gets paid what was disclosed to Wade and Gonzalez (about $800k, though likely goosed with Golovkin being willing to give up a bit of his disclosed money to make the fight), and K2 uses whatever money is left to hopefully find the next sidekick.

Cmon man. You are smarter than this PPV fight™ not a PPV fight stuff. PPV or not is simply a matter of $'s & math not some brand or caliber of fight like people talk about it far too often.

If you make enough to pay the fighters + profit that ='s a successful PPV fight. And as long as you set your guarantees right & incentivize the boxers on the results I see this fight as doable via PPV.

This isn't to say I'm pro-PPV, cuz I've long been on the anti-PPV side, but this stuff where people act like the math doesn't make a PPV fight is silly.

one of the things that crack me up the most is watching the VERY SAME posters who where claiming that GGG should accept 90-10 split at 155 because "Canelo A-side doe" and all that nonsense are NOW claiming that even though Lara cant sell out the first 3 rows of a school bus, somehow he should be getting purse parity with GGG.

                  Its comical

no one wants to see the spanish speaking raft riding refugee from Cuba Lara fight in the USA. Lara's fan base is smaller than Mike Tyson's brain.
