This past Saturday night at the Cosmopolitan Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, WBA/IBO junior middleweight world champion Erislandy 'The American Dream' Lara (23-2-2, 13KOs) successfully defended his titles with a hard-fought twelve round unanimous decision over Vanes "The Nightmare" Martirosyan.

If Saunders, Jacobs, or Canelo are being protected then Golovkin's team should accept this challenge. And do so publicly. There's no one else at middleweight who's even remotely interesting as an opponent for Golovkin.

K2/HBO should consider making nice with Haymon for this fight, since it seems like others are too:

        May 20, 2016:
        Dan Rafael

Ten months after Top Rank promoter Bob Arum filed a $100 million federal anti-trust lawsuit against Premier Boxing Champions creator Al Haymon, they settled on Thursday.

"The stipulation of dismissal was filed in federal court in Los Angeles, and it's a matter of public record," Arum told ESPN.com. "We settled, but the terms of the settlement are confidential, and I'm not going to talk about it. I'd be pissed if they said anything about it, and I am not going to..."

Arum said early in the case that he had a face-to-face meeting with Haymon, one of the rare times they have met in person since their relationship soured in 2006, when Haymon helped engineer Floyd Mayweather's exit from Top Rank.

"It was very civil," Arum said of the meeting with Haymon. "It was early on, and then it was carried on by our lawyers..."

Of course, now that the suit is out of the way, Arum did say he would be willing to make matches between Top Rank fighters and Haymon-managed boxers.

"As a legal basis, there is no impediment," Arum said. "As a practical basis, it's certainly a big possibility, but then again, it will depend on the ability of the two of us to work together to bring that about. It would make sense for both us.

"I'm optimistic that everybody is going to work together and make big fights. I think there's a realization on everybody's part that in order to get big fights, you're gonna have to work together."

Haymon still faces a $300 million lawsuit filed on similar grounds from Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions.

At what weight? I have no problem if Lara is calling GGG out and is willing to move up. Is it going to happen, do I think he is serious about it? No... Actions speak louder than words. this goes for Canelo as well.

this is the order I think they should go after.......

(Canelo fight is dead, so no point wasting a spot on it)

                1. Saunders
                2. Jacobs
                3. Degale / Ramirez
                4. Lara

I still think Lara is a pointless fight, but if options 1, 2, and 3 go nowhere, then fine, do the Lara fight. If nothing else it will forever put an end to the countless "but but but Lara doe" threads we have to endure......

Edit: The author was unclear, but I hope its actually Lara talking here and not DeCubis.

saunders = probably want to control the fight details and the bulk of the revenue

jacobs = trainer stated last night he'll be ready inn "due time"

degale = unification vs jack soon

ramirez = fighting someone no one knows in july bc arum got wbo on the payroll

lara = just wrapped up a fight, has a better resume than the guys above other than degale IMO.
