He is likely broke, which probably led to the comeback but my initial response was to the guy saying Haye making a million wasn't great cos of taxes and fees and I stated, factually, he has made some 20x more than the average joe.

Now that's all there is to it.

Yeah, but he's a boxer, not a promoter (despite the technicality).

Anyway, he can only do it for so long. Frank Warren had Amir Khan doing this back in the day and it wasn't long before the public turned against the can-crushing.

He promotes his own shows. He is not signed with anyone. Hayemaker promoted his last 2 fights. He took home half the gate at the arena. Look it up. He is a promoter.

Since he promotes his own shows he wants to maximize revenue which will explain why dinitrenko was not briggs' opponent. He'd have to pay him more than his own opponent. Not a chance of that happening especially with briggs as his next opponent...

Adam Booth took 25% of that - his trainer & manager.

He would of paid top end 50% tax

also I heard 'he had to pay some people off'

He was given bad financial advice by his trainer/manager Adam Booth which went very VERY wrong.

if that is the case then it is probably why they no longer work together...
