Barry has already said they will fit at least 2 more fights in before taking on Joshua, including guys of Joshua's height. So this IBF fight is at least a year away. Given what Parker has learnt in 3-4 years, another year and (2+ more fights) at this level will do him wonders. Joshua is going to be fighting less, to protect the belt. Will Joshua even learn much more or improve more from his next fight? Doubt it.

Favour AJ by stoppage if they fight soon but its not as if AJ is without a bag of flaws or has a stellar defense himself.

As I've said in other threads the primary problem for Parker in this fight was stamina, not a problem he's faced in the past so i wonder how much his nerves were at play.

Having said that Joshua's right hand is something nasty and if he gets caught with that it's lights out. It will be very interesting if he could take Joshua into the later rounds, I'm not sold on Joshua's chin or stamina.

You'd have to make Joshua a firm favourite right now, but you'd also be foolish to write off Parker's chances completely.

Very cool. Sounds like he'll be another fun watch to watch around the heavyweight division for years to come. I'm liking how the division is finally taking shape again after a few years of 2 or 3 good fighters and the rest not so much.

At the moment I'd favour Joshua to knock Parker out, and I'm primarily a Parker fan, just to make that clear. Parker's still got a really bad habit of pulling back with his chin in the air and it's got him tagged on more than one occasion, against lesser fighters than Takam. He also doesn't seem to have worked out his distancing yet. His footwork and ring generalship are all over the place, and he frequently throws from either too far out of too close in. Doesn't do enough work off the jab as well. Lots of flaws which Joshua would exploit mercilessly.

On the plus side, he has ridiculous speed for a heavyweight and throws punches in bunches with real venom. Also seems to be a very keen learner, which, provided he takes a few more experience building fights, can see him improve tremendously. He has great physical tools. Just needs to learn how to use them effectively.

I'd say his main problems were two pronged: pacing and defence. The pacing he can work on, and indeed, the Takam fight forced him to do that anyway, but the trouble with his defensive flaws is that they're primarily a product of his aggressive style. He can improve by picking his shots better and working more off the jab to make openings and create distance, but that's not something that comes quickly or easily. He also needs to learn to fight more comfortably off the backfoot. He looked extremely ragged there, although that could have been as a result of him being dog-tired.

I wouldn't write him off completely in a Joshua fight, but I wouldn't be favouring his chances. True, if he takes Joshua into uncharted waters he might have the upper hand, but that would depend on how much the preceding rounds have taken out of both men. I suspect Joshua would enter those rounds by far the fresher man.
