Wow, that's a good payday. Yup, he will want like $5 then for GGG lol. We can forget that fight.

Jacobs would fight Golovkin. He doesn't seem a duck and dodge type of guy, especially as Golovkin is becoming a pretty big star now. Boxings main attraction just publically ducked him - it gets people talking.

That being said, theres not really a need to entice Jacobs. The WBA can enforce the mandatory.

Saunders on the other hand has the WBO belt, the only one Golovkin is missing. Saunders has some leverage there, because its him preventing Golovkin being the first undisputed champion in a decade

Good points. Jacobs and his team may want to wait on a purse bid though knowing GGG can't fight off HBO and hope Haymon wins it. Then we get in a tough spot for GGG..I hope it doesn't come to that and they can agree to fight on HBO..that's another reason they may have to overpay Jacobs...

Frank Warren said he can do a PPV fight on Sky apparently. With boxnation.

So if that's true, it would be PPV and both could be paid well I would imagine.

LOL. Nobody else will pay him 1.5m. He's not even worse 1.5m, that was all Haymon. That arena wasn't close to sold out even though it was a 2 year old arena in BK, and the viewership was god awful.

As for him 'wanting' double that, good luck. He brings nothing to Golovkin, and he has absolutely no incentive to overpay him. This is his chance to step up. If he doesn't want to, Golovkin will live without him.

There's just no chance in hell he'll get 3M. Golovkin's paydays have been 1.5-2m the last 4 fights. How are they gonna suddenly pay an unknown challenger double that?

              Exactly.

In my mind neither should get any more than $1.5m but I seriously doubt that would be enough for either guy. We're probably creeping into the $2.5m-$3m range, which is likely more than HBO would want to spend and PPV seems unlikely, they might be able to pull that off in the UK for Saunders but someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but Saunders isn't really a star in the UK himself. HBO has been stingy as **** with their money lately but hopefully they can figure something out here.

They just paid Lemiuex $1.5.. That guy was a complete unknown. Jacobs is more known than him...

Will HBO allow Golovkin to fight on another channel? I can't see K2 outbidding Haymon when it goes to the inevitable purse bids for a Jacobs fight.

Who is Jacobs fighting July 30th is what I want to know? No purse bid will happen anytime soon since he has fight lined up couple months away. Looks like its Saunders or bust.

Lemieux had leverage - he had a belt. Jacobs has nothing. The fight was also on PPV.

As for Jacobs being more known, that's heavily arguable. For example, Google disagrees with you:
                      Google Trends Lemieux vs. Jacobs

Jacobs' only chance is to hope that Golovkin can't fight off HBO, and basically blackmail him.
