Lol, nonsense! Joshua would blow this guy out of the water in less than five.

Why is carlos takam so overrated?

Because he ud an old Thompson?

      So did Malik Scott

Because he went to war with povetkin?

      So did Marco Huck

      and he DIDN'T get KTFO

I didn't get to see the fight, so thanks for those who reviewed/summarised it. Good to read the constructive critism also. Then there's the outright critics, who've never laced a set of gloves in their life. Glad the young kiwi got over the line.

Also, look at how easy those fighters were beaten (and in what kind of fashion) by Joshua and Wilder. When they were shown resistence then they looked smooth facing any problems that their opponents proposed.

His handspeed IMO looks so-so...nothing to base a selling point on. His power looks over-rated.

The very first time he was shown adversity tonight, he was squirming around, because like the sponsor for the fight (Burger King), he has always had it his way! Look at his body language...very uncomfortable-and it wasn't exclusively because the opponent was a step up in class, but it was because what his opponent was doing.
Man but these things happen from time to time. Look what happened with Lennox Lewis and Rahman. Look what almost happened to Wilder against Szpilka. Look what almost happened to Joshua when he got clipped with a catch and shoot flush left hook by Whyte. Look what almost happened to Floyd in Maidana 1, and look what almost happened to Fury when he got dropped by a cruiserweight.

These things happen from time to time man, what's important is how you respond to it, like the guys above did, like Parker supposedly did today (aint watched the fight yet).

It's just one fight, he still has two voluntaries he can sneak in before Joshua, lets see how it goes.

I just think he has to work on a lot,and even once he gets there I don't see him being a threat to any of the title holders, let alone the level beneath them.
One can only tell how a fighter looks after the first level learning curve. I tend to give a little lean way as i did with AJ vs Whyte ,though Joshua was in full control . Parker has talent to work with unfortunately Joshua is the best all around and those who dont rank him in top 3 have absolutely no idea what they are watching and theres quite a few around here and have been for over a year now. These are the same types that hyped up Parker while calling Joshua a hype job. On Parker ....idk sometimes a fighter can be a different fighter one fight to the next ,hes still has the tools to be top 5 material .Id like to see him fight Pulev who i have about ranked 5 .

Time will tell. I have been critical, BUT there are some positives and lessons. Saying that, There are a lot of improvements to be made before fighting any of the belt holders.

Parker answered some but not all questions today.. Chin wise he seems good, jabbed well and won the first few rounds with his speed, precision and range, but he lost the plot after 4-5 rounds, did not work behind his jab and did not jab him as much at all later I.e, lost the game plan when he got hit a few times with solid shots.. He still does basic mistakes of keeping his chin up after throwing punches and stands there without moving out of range.. Could hear his coach yelling at him to keep his chin down and guard up.. Engine wise I think he realized that he cannot punch in bunch all 12 rounds and slowed his pace down.. Also Takam was gassed after 7-8 and could not punch as hard..

I liked this fight and genuinely believe he needs 1-2 yrs to be top 10 and mix with the title holders..

We all need to remember Parker could be 4-5 years away from his prime yet.

He obviously had lots to work on, but he has plenty of time to do it.

He and his team will hopefully have learned a lot from this fight. I feel some of his flaws were evident in past fights, but they were glaringly obvious in this one, so they will surely be working hard to fix them.

Fighting at the top level is the best place to find and fix flaws. If i were him/his team, I would be looking at fighting more fringe contenders before moving onto the top of the division.
