      Good luck with that.

there is no absolute authority on boxing. We all have our own opinions and the 70s was not deep. Duran dominated a decent era but the 40s with Bob Montgomery, Beau Jack, tippy larkin, juan zurita, etc. was deeper

also duran lost to all his best opponents....keep the nostalgia and just look at the fighters and their strength and weaknesses

      the 2000s had more talent

as did the 80s with JCC, CAMACHO, WHITAKER, r. mayweather, arguello, mancini, rosario ETC

I have my own eyes and brain.....Duran is a legend but gets overrated IMO for his one win over Leonard while overrating his lightweight reign that didnt have a lot of great opponents.

Toney was very successful. Froid couldn't accomplish half of what Toney accomplished if he was that out of shape. Toney was better at the craft. Froid is a better fighter because he has a better combination of skill and tools.

Duran never lost to all his best opponents you mongoloid. He beat multiple Hall of famers. Sht loads of them and an ATG in arguably the best win in boxing history.
The reason historians place Duran as a top 5 ATG is not just because of his 70+ fight lightweight dominance but because he dared to be great by fighting much bigger men way past his best and often out of shape. Beating the 2nd greatest Welter ever in SRL. Running arguably the greatest middleweight of all time in Hagler close busting up his face and just losing after going up on the cards by two points after 12 rounds. Duran also beat the absolute **** out of hot prospect light middle Davie more who went on to beat Duran conquerer Wilfred Benitez. Duran then went on to beat huge middleweight Iran Barkley who had just come off destroying Duran conquerer Tommy Hearns x2. Barkley went on to fight at light middleweight ffs. Duran started off at bantamweight and beat a ****ing monster like Barkley. Even Floyd beating GGG comes no where near close to what Duran did vs Barkley.

Some of Durans loses are greater than Floyds wins.

Well what modern day fighter has "invented" something? Ward? No Hopkins? No Pacquiao? No Martinez? Rigo? Cotto? Canelo? Marquez? Bradley?

The sport has been around for more then 200 years. I'm pretty sure there is a patent on all the punches...

Waiting for someone to reveal their dragon punch.. ****** thread is ******
