I know we disagree jsmooth but HBO should've put their foot down with Canelo-fight GGG or we will not approve anyone else. Force Canelo to fight and then if he wants to leave after his deal is up, let him.

Canelo-GGG much bigger money fight and Ward-Kovalev much bigger as far as prestige and skill I agree although I don't think Canelo or GGG are far less talented...

I can't wait for the Ward-Kovalev fight, that's going to be a chess match...

Canelo just did something similar to Manny. We shouldn't blame Floyd or GGG when guys turn down offers for their biggest paydays or vacate belts to avoid a fight. I remind you you gave BJS a ton of sh-t and called hima ducker for not fighting GGG when he wa soffered his biggest payday by K2.

Of course you blamed Wilder and not Povetkin so I can see you are not the best person to evaluate a situation.

I don't disagree that I would have liked that to happen but let's compare let's say someone like Andre Ward who is extremely talented but only sells like 6000 tickets in his hometown to someone like Canelo who puts 40,000 in seats in San Antonio and 35,000 in Houston. It's just impossible for HBO to dictate things to a star of that magnitude... I wish it wasn't that way but we know it is..

Canelo is the biggest name and IMO only superstar in this sport but i dont consider him as one of the best. Ward/Kov i think both have an argument for #1.

Dont get me wrong i wanna see both but i too cannot wait for Ward/Kov. IMO thats taken over as the biggest fight for me. Dont care if they draw or make millions but that is a true 50/50 fight.

Wonder when and where itll be.

lol hilarious. floyd also turned down the most money by not fighting manny but i see you frame everything from a pro floyd viewpoint. as if floyd could have made more fighting someone else...nope but he only offered manny 40 millino and you think that was legit when manny made 200 millino when they fought lmao. if floyd didn't make that silly offer he would have made his highest payday. you aren't the best person to evaluate a situation now are you? Idon't blame wilder, i just think he should have waited for more details before flying home asap. they didn't even test the b sample and he already flew home. can't wait another week? i mean its 4.5 million oh well.

Well we know if everything stays true to form it's happening November 19th... Ward just said he'd like it in Vegas but I'm not sure they'd sell that well. Neither guy sells many tickets but Oakland may be the best place for it. Kovalev doesn't sell anywhere. Somewhere like Stubhub would probably draw big boxing fans to it...I hate when guys who don't sell go to Vegas, it's a slap to real fans who would love to see a fight closer to their fighters home base... In this case Oakland or somewhere close...

Those seat prices are like $5 -25 so its not like he is generating $100 mil or something.

I understand your point. I just think HBO could have done what Dana White did with McGregor.

They surely will not sell as much UFC 200 as they would otherwise. But by putting his foot donw and replacing Connor with Jones, the best UFC fighter (beside the FW guy who may also fight on the card) in with his best opponent, he retained the integrity of the brand, which will keep long term sales strong.

                    Canelo isn't bigger than HBO.

Oh Man!! I live about 45 min from Oakland Coliseum and i would LOVE IT!!!

Hell im going there tonight for A's/Yanks!! Its that close!

Same time i dont think ME will want to give Ward that advantage

Sadly, I can see this fight going to Vegas. I agree neither sell that big so maybe they will be hoping fans see this for the big fight it is.
