Do you consider Óscar de la Hoya a boxing legend?

From his resume down to his skill set, clearly not. Great speed, a nice jab, a lethal left hook, decent combination puncher and a granite chin that compensated for his lack of stamina. He didn't have much else though.

Lost to Quartey, that Trinidad fight was no robbery but he definitely beat Mosley in the rematch.

They remind me of each other.

        Oscar is the fencing oriented.

        Cotto better inside.

The man was a cash cow when the heavyweight division was hot. If that alone doesn't make him a legend than none of u can deny that he could possibly beat any legend of his era.

A friend told me that he lost in his most important fights, however he won against Chávez, Whitaker, Camacho, Mayorga...

On the other hand he could not win Pacquiao, Hopkins, Mayweather, Mosley (twice).

Where do you put De La Hoya?
Prime Pacquiao > Prime Mosley > Prime De La Hoya > Prime Mayweather > Prime Whitaker > Primer Chavez

              very well said...

              could not add more....

Don't see why not. Considering many have good ole vacant title paper champ Froch down as one.

Oscar was a much much better fighter and beat and fought much better opposition over multiple weight divisions.

Considering that he's lost to every single major elite boxer besides Shane who i felt he beat.....no.....

                    Ummmm.....

Delahoya was top 10 p4p for like a decade. From mid 90s to 2000s.

He was actually ranked #1 p4p for a couple of years.

                    Not elite?
