Nobody wants to come over here to get screwed over by Hearns dodgy waysComment

Also Vargas could hold out for Manny Pac or Cotto
He has a title, $1.6 isnt all that, e****ally with the risk of getting screwed overComment

All I am saying is there has to be more to it than thats the best Jessie Vargas can get so he is ducking. Any decent manager would tell him he cant get any better than that so take it. If he goes and fights JoJo Dan for peanuts in Vegas and dont sell out than hes quacking but theres 2 sides to every coin not just whats in a tweet. You're making up woulda/coulda/shoulda scenarios. There are not guarantees Marquez even fights again. And if he does come back it's for a payday that Vargas can't provide. Vargas is running around chasing a Bradley rematch that's never going to happen. And even if it does happen he's not getting paid nowhere near this amount of money with Bradley coming off those horrible numbers against Pacquiao and their first fight not selling well. His title fight against Ali was on the undercard of Thompson-Ortiz at a venue in DC that didn't sell out. This is an opportunity for him to unify, become one of the top names at 147, and get paid well while doing it. This is a guaranteed shot at a title and good payday. This is the best offer out there for Vargas. He's not about to talk himself into a Garcia, Thurman, or Porter fight.Comment

I think its the whole guilty conscience thing, like Karmas gonna come right back at him. Like when you cheat on your girl and dont get caught but expect it to bite you in the @$$ 1day sorta thing... lolVargas has been so gifted by judges (I think I got him losing 3 fights he won) he's f#cking delusional about how judges "should score" I think.
I don't see anything in the UK judge-wise he should be concerned about at all, but I don't think he views it like that. So while I think this is a horrible decision by Vargas I don't believe its fear of Brook based cuz I don't doubt for a second he'd happily fight anyone in his weight division if his mom, dad & grandma were scoring the fight. Dude gots some weird **** about judges. Look it up, he's mentioned this **** numerous times.Comment

50 per cent is paid by international sports stars
So that 1.6 will be cut in half, also other fee's will be added to that, like money made from sponsors.
Like most other countries, the UK charges tax (currently 50 per cent) on the appearance fees and prize money of sportsmen and women when they compete here. But unlike most other tax authorities, Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs also demands a cut of an individual's money from sponsors such as sportswear manufacturers, watchmakers and purveyors of shaving products. This is worked out by dividing the number of days a sportsman competes in the UK by the number of days he competes elsewhere.Last edited by FrankieBruno; 05-17-2016, 01:48 PM.Comment

That's not just a tweet. That's an interview with his manager who is basically saying he's crazy for turning that fight down. Crawford didn't get that much to go over to Scotland and take the belt from Burns after Beltran had been robbed over there. Vargas has absolutely nothing going on over here in the states. HBO doesn't have any dates lined up for Vargas. His own manager is telling him it's ****** to turn down this fight. This is Vargas we're talking about, not Garcia, who has plenty of other options. This is a clear duck imo.All I am saying is there has to be more to it than thats the best Jessie Vargas can get so he is ducking. I can't blame him then. So much for making 3 times more than the Bradley fight. If you have to give up 50% off the top then that is crazy. Thanks for the infoComment

Yup all of these idiots who thinks he will take home 1.6 million forget about all of the other charges he will incur
If these guys were in the same position as Vargas, they would also ask for more.
Eddie Hearn can afford to pay more, he just doesnt want toComment
