And I suspect if Mayweather vs McGregor was going to happen for real none of what you mention matters. The mainstream freak show appeal, the always loyal boxing fans, the always loyal MMA fans & probably some wrestling fans would all jump in to make that the 2nd biggest PPV (buys &/or revenue) involving a boxer in history guaranteed & I'd say it'd have a good chance at beating Manny vs Floyd & the huge take that had. **** I almost hope it happens, despite the freak show aspect, just so I'd be proved right in how huge it'd be.
It's a ridicoulous thought in my view....people go for MMA to watch MMA and same as boxing ...macgreogr has zero chance of beating floyd at boxing if that's the rules it's gonna be under......so no I don't think so, fans know it will be boring or either a blowout so they want $70 dollars for it....it's a circus show that's it

And hell maybe that would be this time, but I'd bet strongly against it. In particular considering he's saying he wouldn't comeback for less than 100M & I can't believe anyone is going to pay him 100M for something they don't see doing well.
His last fight done 375k ppv and was his farewell fight...it ain't gonna get better for his 50th against an MMA trying to be a boxer lol.. And we have canelo vs golovkin ...ward vs kovalev and maybe even joshau vs fury...mayweathers done and know one wants him back on the scene ...that's the truth of the matter

Actually i think it would ,you have to take into consideration MMA and boxing fans combined .If a Mayweather vs Justin Beiber fight was made the ppv view would sky rocket with just the beiber fanatics who never even seen a boxing match ,popularity and freak show fights sell .McGregor is actually more popular than anyone Floyd ever fought maybe even more than Pacman, theres no way the Mayweather vs McGregor doesnt sell maybe even set records add into the unknown what if factors .Even though it should be no more than 20.00 to see it and it shouldn't even be a pro contest more exhibition. A boxing match that would be labled MMA vs Boxing or perceived as would be huge its never been done before with 2 legit champions in both sports that alone will rake in massive numbers , Mayweather knows this and knows hes a heavy favorite so thats why he is persuing it .

I would happily take the over for any amount of money you would be willing to bet on a Floyd vs Conor PPV bout.

U miss the point I'm not saying it's not gonna do better than he's last fight...I'm saying it's not gonna get him his 9 figure payday.....that's what's he talking about and you telling me he will make his $100 million plus for this fight ? if it was mma then a lot of buys would take place but I don't think people knowing he has zero chance of winning are gonna fork out 70 bucks..my apologies because I phrased it wrong..my argument is he won't get his 9 figure payday out of it because Connor macgregor is gonna also want a large part of it....that's my view

I'm saying it sounds like if he doesn't get $100M+ he won't be fighting anyone anyway. So if he fights anyone it'll be for that amount or he won't be fighting. Even before those remarks I've said I thought this Floyd comeback stuff was bs doe.

I definitely feel like people will eat up a freak show doe. Plus Conor has been pulling in better numbers than any active boxer lately, a couple of MMA people have been iirc (one has a *****). If they made this fight & they put this card on St. Paddy's Day in Boston mfers from Ireland will be flying over. I mean just look at how this went from a 100% nuts thing that got brought down to about a 50% nuts thing in a week & change or whatever. Showtime was tweeting **** about it yesterday lol. It might be 10% nuts by June.

Either way we'll see or we won't. Not much of a debate here til its a legit fight on the table.

Ur right the novelty factors there but I just can't get my head round the fact who's gonna buy a ppv event seeing a world class boxer facing an unproven amatuer boxer.......stick it on the same bill with wrestlemania or something because there's no way I would ever see this as a boxing event...but yeah maybe a lot of crazy people would want to see it but I'm just not one of them panda

It would be cool if this was just billed as an exhibition under boxing rules. But if this potential matchup ends up counting toward FMJ's 50th win, it will be a farce. He thought it would be "easy work" against the current 160 champion...then goes out of his way to find the most amateur 160 boxer that could make him money in McGregor. Tough pill to swallow. Asterisk this guy's resume in the books, please, if the guy ends up fighting McGregor for his 50th professional win.
