Or is there another reason? It has be something outside of boxing because they are both defensive fighters.
Because Floyd Mayweather is better, duh!

      For three reasons.
      Marketing.
      Marketing.
      Marketing.

Floyd markets himself while Ward takes naps.
Even during his first "retirement" Floyd was in the public eye...for example was on Dancing with the Stars.

What did Ward do after the Super Six? Sued his manager (unsuccessfully) and basically disappeared except for some minor boxing announcing gigs.

          It's a lot of things:

          1. There's no Dlh to inherit the Ppv mantle from. Closest was Chavez jr before Fonfara. In general no draws at 168-175 of any kind, since Froch retired and Canada guys went shot or irrelevant
          2. Floyd was better and much more accomplished by the time he hit it big. Already belts in 4 divisions before Oscar
          3. Even at welter Floyd has a more appealing style
          4. Lawsuits, layoffs, tuneups. Floyd comes back vs fat Marquez, Ward vs fat Paul Smith
          5. Personality, marketing etc

What the **** do you know about what African-Americans like?

Andre Ward's my favorite (active) fighter right now.

The bottom line is that Floyd was the best fighter of his generation and he was a master marketer which is why EVERY demographic gravitated towards his fights. It's like asking "Why didn't Blacks gravitate towards Larry Holmes the way they did Muhammad Ali"?

Ward isn't out there. He's not hangin' with 50 Cent or other entertainers, rappers, singers, and athletes all over the place, so that means that he's not constantly in the tabloids. He's not dating famous singers or actresses

Plus, he's not famous enough for the White media to start trying to tear him down yet.

Once he gets that famous, THEN you'll see more people of all ages paying attention to him.

But yeah, dude seems like a cool ass Oakland cat from what I've seen of him in interviews and whatnot.

I look foward to him and Kov in November.

Why don't Mexican fans gravitate towards Miguel Vasquez and Carlos Molina?

And more importantly, why is it so concerning to you who they gravitate towards in the first place? Most boxing fans have a diverse group of fighters they watch and support.

This post is actually spot on.

Because Andre Ward isn't a salesman.

                      It simple really.

Guys who don't sell won't sell.
