Not counting the Diaz fight which was 170
He is champ at featherweight, 145 lbs. Worked his way through the division and won the title by knocking out long-time champ Jose Aldo in 13 seconds. Aldo was viewed as the greatest featherweight in mma history when Mcgregor fought him. That's what all the hype was about.
He was moving up a division to 155 for the fight with Dos Anjos, but the fight got cancelled due to injury, so McGregor fought Diaz at 170.
For what it's worth, skillwise, McGregor is a much better fighter than Diaz, but you could tell the size difference determined the outcome of that fight. It was the equivalent of Floyd going up to fight someone like Degale at 168. Floyd could be a higher level of fighter, but his punches won't have any effect.
As for Floyd and Connor in a boxing match, speaking as a fan of both fighters, Floyd picks him apart, 12-0, and makes it looks easy. While Connor does have good hand speed and boxing skills, he fights guys who have limited boxing acumen, and in some cases none at all. Mma is full of wrestlers and jiu-jitsu practitioners that only train boxing and kickboxing out of necessity. McGregor may look good against these types of fighters, but against a real boxer (not even Floyd, like a top 10-15 contender) he doesn't fair as well. And if he fights the best boxer in the last 50 years, he will get schooled and possibly stopped late.Last edited by Contra; 05-15-2016, 02:13 PM.

I know nothing about that sport but that's what I was told. I do know the McGregor guy though, him and the woman Ronda Rousey.

I'd be surprised if McGregor lasted 2 rounds.

If there is any mma guy who ever deserves to fight Floyd he is not punk Mcgregor, he is Nick Diaz. I used to watch mma before boxing and the guy was my favorite. He's a straightforward boxer with bjj. Still love watching him pummel all those mma guys only with his boxing, sometimes he gets robbed.

You'll find that when McGregor steps into the ring, that he's not as fast and powerful as you expected. His punching mechanics aren't that good and he doesn't properly get his body behind his punches. His KO's from the MMA are more from his accuracy and time rather than power.

Lol at you.

Connor has a good chin at his natural weight (which is two pounds below the welterweight limit in boxing and I assume their fight would be at 147) and Floyd doesn't **** like he used to..
Floyd may bust him up over a series of rounds and the corner might stop it (like the Gatti fight) but no, I don't think Floyd will KO him early or anything. I would expect Mayweather-McGregor to resemble the Marquez fight or maybe the Hatton fight.Last edited by Contra; 05-15-2016, 02:15 PM.
