Conor McGregor, purely as an athlete, is about the size of Erislandy Lara (skip all the talk of "McGregor basically fights at welterweight" nonsense, the guy wrestler-cuts down 30 pounds to fight).

6 months of boxing training, even if you could put Conor with a blend of Eddie Futch, Emmanuel Steward, and whatever top trainer to day that you want, is nowhere near enough time to gameplan for 20 years of professional boxing experience (after a stellar amateur career), 18 years at the world-level, fighting at an ability where a conversation is had that Conor could be stepping into the ring with one of the best fighters to ever put on gloves.

The southpaw in/out style may take Floyd 3 rounds, instead of two, to figure out but McGregor gets washed.

Floyd "Money" Mayweather fought 20 years as a professional, and has been hit flush less than a handful of times; he'll be prepared for the fight, but he's not sweating McGregor like that.

But I imagine this would be worse than the Gatti asswhooping. Even at 40.
That Gatti azz whopping was vicious. Floyd looked like a Matador finishing off a baby calf!!!

          With preconditions:

          With MMA gloves: yes absolutely

With cleto Reyes gloves: yes provided that Floyd will not use hugging as part of his lame tactics. No Bayless to allow it.

In the cage: where in Conner can push him to the screen and corner him with flurries.

Rules apply: should be fair for both combatants.

          Example of rules:

Should be only striking no ground game. Done in a cage, MMA gloves, MMA ref, only then does this fight becomes a legitimate fight. When rules are fair and watchable.

Anything can happen, lads. Imagine the headlines if Conor knocked Floyd out.

On another note, people need to stop making excuses about Conor losing to Diaz because Diaz was "too big." They looked the same size to me, regardless of what their actual weight was.

We could see two of the happiest, most well paid KO victims of all time this year, Khan er McGregor

As much as I hate Floyd, we are talking about one of the greats who left the game while he was still schooling the cream of the current crop. Conor is a mixed martial artist with a "striking" background.

Conor would destroy Floyd - in the Octagon.

Floyd would destroy Conor in the Ring.

Simple - don't complicate it with idiocy.

Absolutely. Conor got exposed by a middle of the road fighter on short notice.

Conor can beat up little guys - no worries. Someone his own size that he can't manhandle? Different story. Diaz wasn't even in great shape.

Floyd will stick a jab in his face until he curls up into a ball and taps.

this is just plain and basic common sense. i think conor needs the boxing training and steve smoger as the ref to beat mayweather.
