Also, Ward would be signing a contract that would likely mess up his own plans to land a unification fight with the lineal champ in his division in what would be one of the biggest PPV fights that could be made in boxing.

164 was never an official offer. And, when exactly was GGG supposed to catch Ward coming off legal issues? When exactly was Ward ready to take the fight? He'd be on the same timeline he's on now with Kovalev...and when is that fight supposed to happen? What is GGG doing right now?..And when is that fight supposed to happen?

Lil g could have caught Ward after he fought Paul Smith in 2015. They both had open dates after that. If not he could have beat up on Lemieux and when Canelo clearly didn't want the fight or else him and Canelo would have fought in May.

When Ward didn't have an opponent he could have took the Ward fight then. Instead he fought Wade. Ward instead moved up to 175 completely instead of 172 and has since on the verge of fighting Kovalev. The difference between lil g fans and Ward fans is we want to see Ward move up and fight Kovalev. Lil g fans don't want to see him face Ward at 168. I believe Ward beats both of them. I believe he beats lil g super easy.

They could have fought in March or April. If Loeffler was serious about the fight with Ward I promise Ward and his team would have ditched Baruae and pursued lil g. But me, you and the whole ggg camp knows he gets beat down by Ward.

RE: Ward, was it GGG's fault that Ward signed a contract to fight at 175, further pushing any chance of GGG/Ward bout back a few years?...did GGG force Ward to sign that HBO contract? And you can't convince boxing fans that Ward signed it for the challenge...there is no challenge in tune-ups...the true challenge was taking Kovalev right away. But beyond that, why couldn't Ward just stay at 168 since he had unfinished business. The guy never became undisputed at the division...and he definitely did not clean it out. The 3 fights that could have been made at 168 while waiting for GGG could have gone Dirrell, Bute, then DeGale for the 3rd bout. Those are all interesting fights. But Ward made a decision &, for some strange reason, continues to call out GGG. Those are all Ward problems. If Ward truly wanted a GGG fight at 168, he should have stayed at 168. But the evidence is out...he probably can't make 168 anymore...time has caught up with him. Do you disagree?

The first bolded part- lil g has took very little damage. Look at that resume. Do you think if Pacquiao was a natural 160 pounder he would have lost to anybody on that resume? How about Cotto? Canelo? Mayweather? Marquez? It is hard to take damage when that is the case.

If he starts fighting better competition I promise you will view him differently.

The second bolded part is a pretty good question. I do believe Ward is getting bigger and not fighting maybe made him put a few pounds on. Ward is a first class athlete if he knew ggg fight was on the table, he would clearly and easily make 168 no problem. He realized Kovalev is a beast at 175 and Ward is a competitor and wants to fight on PPV. ggg was a big fight and a one he knew he would win super easy, (Just like we all did) So he was trying to push that fight at 168, but the media, fans made excuses for lil g because they didn't want to see him lose and his myth end.

Ward understanding if he wants to fight on PPV he had to move up in weight. And now he has his eyes set on Kovalev. If Ward was hesitant on Kovalev and acting scared like how lil g and his team re, I would call Ward out plain and simple. I can't wait for the Ward vs Kovalev fight may the best man win. I am rooting for Ward, but if Kovalev wins then he gets credit.

If Ward thought he could beat Golovkin he would have sent him an offer to fight immediately, not "some next year... after I've had another couple of tune-ups"

Who the fuck challenges a smaller man to move up in weight for him, then says "I need a couple more tune-ups first doe"

Ward never intended fighting Golovkin because he knows he would lose. He won't fight Kovalev either, you can bank on that.

Ward beat lil g easily. He called him lil g for a reason. Since when do you need to send a contract to call out people? Isn't lil g the A side? Who in the fuuck sends: Mayweather, Canelo, Pacquiao, Cotto a contract when saying they want to fight?

Don't be ******. Loeffler could have called up Roc Nation or when Ward was talking they could have talks and then worked out the details. If lil g is the A side vs Ward then he can start the negotiations. When he said that chump shyt of 164 he hoe'd out. He wanted: Froch, Hopkins and Chavez jr at 168: FACTS

If Ward that that pussie shyt like lil g wanting every fighter but Kovalev at 175 I would call him out. Ward won't fight Kovalev? I heard that Wilder wouldn't fight pedvetkin you seen that. Let's bet your account that Ward fights Kovalev if Kovalev doesn't lose his next fight?

I will put my account up vs your account that between now and the end of the year that fight is signed and ready to go? Do you want to bet your account?

Froch, Chavez were A sides at the time. You make concessions for A siders. 164 at 50/50 is pretty generous for a B sider coming off BET, at least a good starting point

I'm in agreement with you that GGG should get tougher competition. But, like it's been said before, how is that possible when the tough competition don't want to fight him? The boxers you mentioned all have pretty darn good resumes, for sure. But GGG is not them, nor does anything he do mirror any of those guys either...maybe Marquez, but even then JMM lacked the power to be compared to GGG...or maybe Pacquiao as far as trying to clean out a division. It's all nice to do resume comparisons & all, but the fact remains that if GGG was truly a hype train, someone would have stepped up by now & exposed it. No one has...and, apparently, no one wants to...except Ward, who is definitely a bigger fighter & just moved up to a weight class that GGG can't presently follow. That's not GGG's fault...he can only fight those who are willing. I'm sure his team would be more than happy to entertain a Ward fight in the future. It still begs the question: why is Ward continually talking smack on GGG when that bout is potentially a year away?...and with a dangerous boxer waiting for him at the end of the line, why would Ward even waste time talking about GGG? Jealousy? Or to gain buzz for himself? I'm leaning more toward the latter, but the former has merits as well.

And Ward could have been on ppv anyway at 168 if he were to pursue the fighters I mentioned: Dirrell, Bute, & DeGale. DeGale & Bute was a ppv fight, & it was a good fight. You can't tell me all those names are bigger than Ward's. The knock on your argument is that Ward constantly trying to shame GGG is somewhat of a bully tactic, while at the same time he doesn't seem sincere. Go check out that HBO piece they did on GGG/Rosado, because that's when Ward meets GGG for the 1st time. The words that came out of GGG's mouth tells me all I need to know on his intent with Ward. But Ward blocked the fight with all kinds of promotional maneuvers...and then followed that up with a farce of a counter-offer only after the Lemieux fight was secured. If this is about the business, then Ward screwed himself over by not advising his team to take lesser money so he can fight him at 168...GGG is the bigger name...GGG is the A-side. No one is going to convince me that the non-American who can sellout American venues isn't a bigger draw than Ward. Still, this talk becomes pointless until a year from now when Ward's contract is up.

I like Kovalev in the matchup against Ward right now...if the Ward that fought Barrera is the Ward that fights Kovalev, then Ward will lose. Would prefer his next tune-up to at least be against a hard puncher...don't know who they'll pick, but it better be a hard puncher to help him prepare. And I was a big Ward fan myself, before he went inactive for 2 years. So, let the chips land where they may...I will watch & we will see what comes next.

Why would Loeffler want to chase a fight with Andre Ward when Golovkin already had a unification fight with Lemieux signed and sealed, plus a contract from the WBC gauranteeing him a mando shot at their title against the winner of Cotto/Canelo?

Ward had a chance to fight GGG - at 168 - in 2013 but he wasn't ready for it. He still wasn't ready for it 2 fucking years later!

If Ward is so damn good, how come the contract he sent to Loeffler included a stipulation that he would need at least 1 more tune-up before facing Golovkin?

Why should the bigger man, who is P4P No1, according to his gullible fans, need tune-ups to fight a smaller man who would be moving up for him?

16 months now since Ward signed with Roc and he's still pissing around with tune-ups. Wake up, ffs!

Any version of Ward loses to Kovalev, unless he is allowed to blatently use his head as a third fist the way he did against Kessler.

And even if he was allowed to do that again, the chances are strong that Kovalev would time him diving in with a head butt and KHTFO.

He had the chance to catch Ward while he was coming off of legal issues and beat him at 168. He wasn't confident that's why his team didn't do it. They felt they could beat: Chavez jr, Hopkins, Froch at 168 so there was no need for a catch weight. Had they not claimed anybody from 154-168 could get it and made serious offers to fight at 168 then that would be different.

Imagine if Ward was willing to go up to 175 and fight everybody but Kovalev? And was claiming anybody from 160 to 175 can get it? And Andre Ward was supposed to be the next Tyson and most feared, but when Kovalev calls his bluff he says 170. But Hopkins, Barrea, Stevenson I will fight you all at 175. But Kovalev you have to fight me at 170.

What does that sound like to you? Does it sound like Ward really wants that fight?
It's all about the best position. I'm not sure why you believe Golovkin should have jumped up 8lbs to fight Ward at his preferred weight. So what if he didn't feel confident of beating Ward @ 168? Nobody said Ward isn't a good fighter. The fights with Chavez, JR & Froch were potentially bigger money fights & easier wins. Ward hasn't done shit in 4 years, so while he thinks he's worth big dollars, Golovkin likely thinks he's the A side, since he's the MW champ, and has been active. Why should he fight on Ward's terms, because you want him to?

But anybody from 154-168 can get it? Nobody can beat him in these weight classes right? Man that was a scary ass offer he knows, I know, Loeffler knows, you know, even his wife knows Ward would beat his ass.

Lil g has a pathetic resume, not bad pathetic! He is only getting older. His first legit test might be at 36 and he will get beat.
