Hopefully there's some way they can tell how long ago he took it based on the amount detected.

If he just took it yesterday then screw him, he's cheating or too dumb to stay up to date with the rules.

But if its some trace amount of a fairly mild drug they just banned, it would be a real pity to cancel the fight.

After the recent Francisco Vargas situation who f#cking knows anymore. I liked to think of that Garcia vs Morales PED situation as some bad anomaly, but it seems like all of these things have a case by case basis with them to some degree. And Mexican meat & this newly banned drug that can stay in your system for awhile apparently, seems like situations not all that opposite to me.

It was banned since January 2016 -- WADA only announced meldonium would appear on the 2016 banned list in fall 2015. But Sharapova said she knew the drug only as mildronate, not meldonium... a.s.o.

... meldonium is difficult to be fully eliminated from the body -- and I think that Povetkin will chose this line of defence...

I guess I'm admittedly biased about povetkin deliberately doping because Wlad, Wilder, Joshua, etc all look like WWF wrestlers and Povetkin looks like he drives a forklift and he's the one testing dirty.

It's a substance that people have been getting busted for left and right because it stays in their systems longer than expected after it was banned.
