Povetkin is a proven drug cheat and should be punished, suspended and possibly sued. He's not hitting tennis balls he's throwing punches.
We only need to refer to the recent Vargas fiasco to realise they don't care about that type of stuff

      Vargas is mexican however..

Its a shame really.... Povetkin has also robbed Wilder of a chance of reaching the top level of the division. Who is Wilder going to fight now to look like a decent contender to the throne? Maybe they will reschedule the fight with much stricter testing

He should fight Pulev then gun for the Fury/Klitchko winner.

Definitely a good choice. Pulev may keep opting for the IBF route though, they treat him pretty well. Especially if Joshua keeps on raking the money in through UK PPV's - a lot easier to sell a European name here

It looks like the Deontay Wilder-Alexander Povetkin fight will be canceled due to Povetkin's positive drug test for meldonium. Wilder and his team were supposed to board a flight from England, where he has been training, to Moscow at 8 a.m. ET. They did not board and are making plans to return to the United States, although they still have not heard from the WBC, which has had letters from both sides stating their cases for the past 24 hours. Team Wilder told ESPN that they are proceeding as though the fight will be canceled.

I would hope Povetkin would be suspended for 6-12 months over this issue first off so a rescheduling of this fight wouldn't even be happening til after November or May of 2017. And imo from there he needs to earn his #1 spot all over again after this fiasco.

And I mean this fight has been on the table & pushed back for like a year or nearly a year at this point. I say you just move forward & forget about it at this point. Maybe setup a fight with Pulev if possible. Think he's about the best guy WBC ranked that Wilder hasn't beaten & doesn't have something on the table. Maybe Haye would be the 2nd choice if he's ready to fight anyone with a pulse again.

                      Fuck Povetkin.
