In summary, there are many other substances that meet the same criteria WADA claims to use, yet those aren't banned. The only studies done on meldonium are on those who had a medical condition; in other words, they were already compromised, and as I said, if the drug normalized them, that's not performance enhancing. No evidence of a perfectly healthy human getting any advantage from meldonium whatsoever. 200 athletes punished over it, 60 in 2016 alone.

This whole thing is a sham.
and... viagra was created to improve vision. Drugs which are meant to impact one symptom/ system can also impact other functions which is why medication infomercials have a 30 sec side effect segment. These nutritionists and strength coaches wouldn't use banned substances for no reason. That being said I'm a conspiracy theorist myself so I understand ur point

      • That's the same thing America "exposed" so many russians athletes with. It's hardly a ped and it's forbidden since January...

edit: just read it was nanograms they found in his system so he would "dope" with a small dose of meldonium just to take the risk of being caught, it makes perfect sense.

            • The entire starting XI of Russian side FC Rostov was subjected to surprise doping tests following their 3-1 victory over Dinamo Moscow on Thursday.

Having finished 14th last season and avoided relegation in the end-of-season play-off, unfancied Rostov have risen to second place during the current campaign and sit two points behind leaders CSKA Moscow.

A FIFA statement quoted by Reuters confirmed the tests were undertaken following media reports of possible use of meldonium, a substance that has been banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) since January 1.

He added: "There were some rumours in the media about meldonium and Rostov ordering meldonium.

That's the problem. Meldonium doesn't do anything. It's never been proven TO do anything in anyone who didn't have a medical condition.

                      And as far this dude:

Issue a ban affecting the livelihoods of hundreds of athletes, akin to slandering them in the court of public opinion and the media, labeling them as drug users, only to later say "hmmm, maybe we'll give you a pass after all"?

If this were REALLY a serious PED, they would not back down.

Or how about this jewel from just a few days ago:

                      Goes on and on:

Even Putin got involved, and WADA started to choke when the Kremlin got involved:

This is a drug that's been around and used by people for over 70 years. All of a sudden, at a point when Russian athletes are gaining traction, we see this otherwise benign drug get banned.

Now, if WADA does back down like I figure they will and take it off the ban list, guess what? They've already ruined the lives of hundreds of athletes.

                      It's political BS.

The fight should go on TO SPITE WADA if Wilder is still game. Boxing needs fights like Wilder/Povetkin and we can't keep letting these drug agencies play whack-a-mole with people's lives.
