Yes people who dislike Golovkin have been clinging onto an unofficial report claiming 97k over all the other official ones which state 150k.

        • People who keep saying mr. 97k sure love talking about a guy who supppsedly not popular. Also, interesting fun fact: that Canelo would actually face GGG in the ring and not in a popularity contest. So keep posting mr. 97k, mr irrelevant poster.

Obviously with Canelo that's just a Mexican fanbase thing, Canelo is just admired by fans, no matter what anyone says on here about Canelo being hated, I don't think that's true. I think fans love Canelo, his fighting style, his looks, demeanor and his poise

Mayweather had a 'idgaf about boxing, give me the money fights' attitude and people either loved this or hated it

With Ward, who can relate to him? He's like the perfect guy, perfect personality, politically correct, his replies are honest, only talks down to other fighters when he gets rattled by them, etc. And fans still don't really like him like you'd think an undefeated guy who won Olympic Gold, and has a great personality and fought the best, should be loved...it's cause none of these *******s can relate to him. Have you seen the makeup of boxing fans? They're not exactly stand up citizens if Boxingscene is any indication of the boxing fanbase

So who can relate to him?

Yea thats probably true. I saw a Crawford interview a few days back, quite a long one..... and I found him boring as fk LMAO A terrific fighter but no real personality. I can see why people like Broner, his life is basically a highlight-reel entertainment package.

There is definitely some truth in that.

3x, at best..... and Khan is likely responsible for 1/3 of those. Canelo is likely responsible for 2/3, just like Cotto was likely responsible for 2/3 of the buys in their fight. Cotto is a beast, easily the 2nd highest draw now that Mayweather has retired.

What would you say Canelo accounted for out of the 2.2 mil against Mayweather?

I don't really know anything about that stuff, was just guessing.

My guess is..... bugger all !

It seems that when Mayweather is in a fight that people think he could lose, they buy the fight..... maybe the poor Berto figures were because everyone knew Mayweather was going to win?

                      Maybe 200-300k ?

                      I really don't know.
