Well, then he's a *****, not even wanting to defend his title at the actual weight limit. It's fine though, Golovkin is about to knock him off his pedestal and take his place as the #1 star in boxing regardless.

Doubtful, I don't think the fight will happen, not before Canelo has fought Saunders, Lemieux and a few other legit 160 fighters anyway.

Personally I'd prefer to see Canelo in some competitive fights first against the other top guys, I guess GGG can fight Jacibs or move up to 168.

Not this argument again. History shows the A-side get what they want, or you get left like Winky Wright. If GBP/Canelo are even generous enough to budge 2lbs, that would be a big deal, and a deal GGG/K2 should accept with no hesitation. If he wants to Winky his career, just decline a catchweight and wait for Canelo to get stripped

gbp willl be the one making the offers, its up to ggg if he takes it, he shouldnt have problems, any offer from gbp will be more than 3x his highest payday, and as we know ggg is not a business man, he cares about the titles not about the money...

I'm in the minority who don't want Golovkin/Alavrez next. I think GGG kills Canelo and receives little credit for it just like the Lemieux fight. It won't be the super fight that transcends him to the next level and it won't make up for him not being able to fight Martinez or Pavlik.

Jacobs & Saunders are better fights to take this year, and let Canelo's reputation grow. Unfortunately if Canelo continues to take bs fights against guys like Khan, Kirkland, Clottey then his reputation will probably start to suffer.

I don't understand why golovkin would budge. If it goes to purse bid he gets 45 percent and the fight at 160. No reason to negotiate with Canelo if he wants to be a b1tch.

Well kinda, but I think too many of you look at lineal titles the wrong way

At the end of the day, they are a title, just like any other. They old adage still applies: 'the fighter makes the belt, not the other way around'. Cannel's lineal and WBC titles are far less legitimate than Golovkin's WBA and IBF titles, simply because he has legitimised them with his unparalleled streak through the division
